Fosfalugel, gel for oral administration 16 g 6 pcs

An antacid drug. It has an acid-neutralizing, enveloping and adsorptive effect.

Limits proteolytic activity of pepsin. It does not cause alkalization of gastric juice, keeping the acidity of the gastric contents at physiological levels. Does not lead to secondary hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid.

It forms a protective layer on the gastrointestinal mucosa. Promotes removal of toxins, gases and micro-organisms throughout the digestive tract and normalizes the passage of contents through the intestine.

Indications

– Gastric and duodenal ulcer;

– gastritis with normal or increased secretory function;

– hernia of the esophageal diaphragm;

– gastroesophageal reflux, reflux esophagitis, including.ч.

– ulcerative dyspepsia syndrome;

– functional diarrhea;

– functional diseases of the large intestine;

– gastric and intestinal disorders caused by intoxication, taking medications, irritants (acids, alkalis), alcohol.

– aluminum phosphate 10.4 g
– sorbitol 70% 4.48 g
– agar-agar 800 0.0448 g
– pectin 0.0872 g
– calcium sulfate 0.0117 g – potassium sorbate 0,0402 g
– orange flavoring 0,080 g
– purified water up to 16 g

How to take, the dosage

For adults and children over 6 years of age – oral intake of 1-2 sachets of Fosfalugel 2-3 times a day.
The regimen depends on the nature of the disease: – gastro-oesophageal reflux, diaphragmatic hernia – immediately after meals and at night;
– gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer – 1-2 hours after meals and immediately when pain occurs;
– gastritis, dyspepsia – before meals;
– functional diseases of the colon – in the morning on an empty stomach and at night. If between doses of Fosfalugel pains recur – repeat taking the preparation.
For children under 6 months old – 1/4 sachet or 1 tea spoon (4 g) after each of 6 feedings; over 6 months old – 1/2 sachet or 2 tea spoons after each of 4 feedings.
Fosfalugel drug can be taken alone or diluted with half a glass of water before taking it.

Interaction

Phosphalugel may decrease the effectiveness of some concomitantly used drugs.

Special Instructions

In case of constipation, which occasionally occurs when taking Fosfalugel, it is recommended to increase the amount of water consumed daily.

The drug can be used by patients with diabetes.

The drug can be used prophylactically to reduce absorption of radioactive elements.

The use of the drug Fosfalugel does not affect the results of roentgen examination.

When using Fosfalugel concomitantly with other medicinal products, the physician must be consulted because Fosfalugel reduces the effectiveness of some drugs.

Contraindications

Phosphalugel should not be taken if any of the components of the drug is intolerant and patients with impaired renal function.
The drug should not be taken for a long time without a prescription.

With caution is used in the presence of kidney disease, cirrhosis of the liver, severe heart failure. Elderly patients and patients with impaired renal function may increase aluminum concentration in serum when using Fosfalugel in recommended doses.

Tetracyclines antibiotics, iron drugs, cardiac glycosides should be taken not earlier than 2 hours after taking Fosfalugel.

It is possible to use the drug in therapeutic doses during pregnancy and lactation with indications.

Side effects

Digestive system disorders: rare – constipation (mainly in elderly patients and bed-ridden patients).

Overdose

Symptoms: constipation, because large amounts of aluminum ions inhibit intestinal peristalsis.

Treatment: application of laxatives.
