Ketoprofen belongs to the group of NSAIDs with anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative and analgesic effect.
In the form of gel provides local treatment of joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, skin, veins, lymph vessels and lymph nodes.
In joint syndrome it relieves pain in the joints at rest and when moving, reduces morning stiffness and joint swelling.
Pharmacokinetics
It penetrates well through the skin. Bioavailability of the gel is about 5%. The absorbed part of ketoprofen binds with blood plasma proteins by about 99%. It is metabolized in the liver. About 80% of the dose taken is excreted in the urine as metabolites, less than 10% – unchanged.
It does not cumulate in the body.

How to take, the dosage
The product is for external use.
A small amount (3-5 cm long strip) of the gel should be applied 2-3 times a day to the appropriate area of the skin and rubbed in gently.
There is no need for a dry dressing as the gel is easily absorbed through the skin, is odorless, colorless, leaves no greasy spots and does not stain clothing.
Interaction
In frequent and prolonged use symptoms of interaction with other drugs may appear (the same as in systemic use).
In co-administration with other NSAIDs, GCS, ethanol, corticotropin, ulceration and gastrointestinal bleeding may occur.
The concomitant use with oral anticoagulants, heparin, thrombolytics, antiaggregants, cefoperazone, cefamandole increases the risk of bleeding.
Ketoprofen reduces the effect of hypotensive drugs and diuretics (inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis).
It increases the hypoglycemic effect of insulin and oral hypoglycemic drugs (dose adjustment is necessary). Co-administration with sodium valproate causes impairment of platelet aggregation. Increases the plasma concentration of verapamil and nifedipine.
Prevent contact of the gel with the mucous membranes and eyes.
The product must not be applied to damaged skin.
Cautious long-term use in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment is necessary.
If a rash occurs, discontinue use and treat accordingly.
Contraindications
Side effects
Allergic reactions, skin hyperemia, photosensitization, skin exanthema, purpura.
Pregnancy use
In I and II trimesters of pregnancy the drug may be used only if necessary. In the III trimester of pregnancy the drug is contraindicated.
It is not recommended to use during breastfeeding.
