As part of the complex treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract, accompanied by cough with sputum difficult to separate (tracheitis, bronchitis, tracheobronchitis), and spastic cough.
Composition
100 g syrup contains:

The plantain extract liquid (1:2-2.5) – 3.00 g (extractant: ethanol 44.7% (V/V)),
The thyme extract liquid (1:2-2.5) – 15.00 g (extractant: ammonia solution 10% (m/m) : glycerin 85% : ethanol 90% (V/V) : water (1:20:70:109));
auxiliary components:
methylparahydroxybenzoate – 0.07 g,
propylparahydroxybenzoate – 0.03 g,
Invert sugar solution – 81,90 g (glucose – 19,8 g, fructose – 19,8 g, sucrose – 19,8 g,
Purified water – 22,5 g).

How to take, the dosage
Ingestion.
The syrup should be taken undiluted after meals, shaken before use.
In the absence of other prescriptions, the following dosage is recommended: Children from 1 to 5 years: 1 teaspoon 2 times a day. Children from 5 years to 12 years: 1 tablespoon 2 times a day. Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 tablespoons 3-5 times a day.
The duration of the drug is determined by the attending physician, depending on the severity of the disease. In mild forms of inflammation of the respiratory tract – 2 weeks; it is recommended to take the drug for 2-3 more days after the disappearance of symptoms.
If after 2-3 weeks the patient’s condition has not improved, the attending physician should be consulted. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, do not take a double dose of the drug.
Interaction
With the ethanol content, the drug contributes to enhance the effect of sedatives, hypnotics and other drugs that depress the central nervous system. Simultaneous administration of anti-cough drugs is not recommended due to difficulty in excretion of secreted sputum.
Special Instructions
The product contains 8.1% ethyl alcohol (volume percentage).
If the dosage instructions are followed, adults and children over 12 years of age will consume up to 1.28 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in a maximum single dose of the product (20 ml) and up to 6.4 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in a maximum daily dose of the product (100 ml) with each administration of the product;
children from 5 to 12 years of age – up to 0.64 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in the maximum single dose of the drug (10 ml) and up to 1.28 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in the maximum daily dose of the drug (20 ml);
Children from 1 to 5 years of age – up to 0.32 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in the maximum single dose of the drug (5 ml) and up to 0.64 g of absolute ethyl alcohol in the maximum daily dose of the drug (10 ml).
The preparation contains invert sugar solution: 1 teaspoon of the preparation contains 3.8 g of fructose-glucose mixture, which corresponds to 0.316 CFU; 1 tablespoon contains 7.6 g of the mixture, which corresponds to 0.632 CFU. People with diabetes and people on a reduced-carbohydrate diet should take this information into account.
Impact on ability to drive, operate machinery When using the drug, it is not recommended to perform dangerous activities requiring high concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles and operating moving machinery).

Contraindications
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug (in the presence of hypersensitivity to plantain, thyme, or other plants of the family of herbs and the components methylparahydroxybenzoate and propylparahydroxybenzoate);
sugarase/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
liver disease, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain injury (due to possible negative effects of ethanol);
Pregnancy and breastfeeding (because of the possible negative effects of ethanol);
children under 1 year of age (because of the possible negative effects of ethanol).
Side effects
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adverse effects are classified according to their frequency of occurrence as follows:
Very common (â¥1/10), common (â¥1/100, Ë1/10), infrequent (â¥1/1000, Ë1/100), rare (â¥1/10000, Ë1/1000) and very rare (Ë 1/10000); frequency unknown (frequency of events cannot be determined from available data).
Very rare allergic reactions are possible (including due to the content of alkylparahydroxybenzoates in the drug).
Gastrointestinal disorders: very rare – abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Immune system disorders: very rarely – hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema, skin rashes, urticaria, itching.
The drug may have an adverse effect on the teeth (tooth decay).
If side effects occur, the use of the drug should be stopped and the doctor should be consulted.
