Indications

– excessive formation and accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract (meteorism, Remchelde syndrome, aerophagia, increased gas formation in the postoperative period);

– preparation for diagnostic studies of the abdomen and pelvis (ultrasound, X-ray studies, etc.).

– symptoms of excessive gas caused by functional dyspepsia;

– acute poisoning with detergents containing foaming agents (as defoamer).

Active ingredient

Composition

One capsule contains:

Active ingredient: simethicone – 40.0 mg

Associates: Gelatin – 22.47 mg, glycerol 85% – 9.67 mg, methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.28 mg, quinoline yellow dye, E 104 – 0.10 mg, sunset yellow dye, E 110 – 0.0024 mg.

How to take, the dosage

In complaints related to excessive gas:

Adults and children over 6 years: 2 capsules 3 – 5 times a day, possibly with a little liquid, after each meal and, if necessary, before going to bed. The duration of treatment depends on the presence of symptoms of bloating. If necessary, the drug EspumisanÒ can be used for a long period of time.

Preparing for diagnostic tests: 2 capsules 3 times a day the day before the test, and 2 capsules in the morning on the day of testing without water.

As an antifoaming agent in poisoning with detergents containing foaming agents: single dose for adults is 10 to 20 capsules, for children over 6 years: 3 to 10 capsules at one time; the dosage depends on the severity of intoxication.

Special Instructions

People with hypersensitivity to the drug components (methyl parahydroxybenzoate and quinoline yellow dye) may have immediate hypersensitivity reactions, as well as delayed hypersensitivity reactions. If any allergic reactions occur, the drug should be discontinued immediately and consult a physician.

Influence on driving and operating machinery

Espumisan Ò has no effect on the speed of psychomotor reactions and on the ability to perceive or evaluate the situation.
