Eskusan, drops 20 ml

Escusan is a phytopreparation used for disorders of the venous circulation.

It has anti-exudative and venotonic effect. It was found that horse chestnut seed extract reduces the concentration of lysosomal enzymes, resulting in decreased breakdown of mucopolysaccharides in the capillary walls.

Escusan reduces vascular permeability by preventing filtration of low molecular weight proteins, electrolytes and water into the intercellular space.

Indications

Cronic venous insufficiency class I-III according to CEAP classification: varicose veins, swelling, cramps in the calf muscles, feeling of heaviness in the legs.

Active ingredient

Composition

100 g of the solution for oral administration contains:

Active substances:

horse chestnut seed extract dry (Hippocastani extractum siccum normatum) 5-7:1 4.725 g (extractant – ethanol 60% vol/vol), thiamine hydrochloride 0.5 g,

Auxiliary substances:

Ethanol 96% – 26.4 g;

Purified water – 67.675 g;

p> lactose monohydrate – 0.432 g;

silicon dioxide colloid – 0.243

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion, before meals. Dilute in a small amount of water before use.

Take 12-15 drops 3 times a day. The duration of therapy is determined by the attending physician. Shake before use.

Interaction

The action of thiamine is reduced with concomitant use with sulfite-containing infusion solutions.

Fluorouracil, vinblastine, bleomycin, cisplatin impair the absorption of vitamin B1. Penicillamine, isoniazid reduce the effectiveness of vitamin B1 by increasing its excretion.

Special Instructions

Escusan contains 31% ethanol. If the recommended dosages are observed, each time the drug is taken, up to 0.128 g of ethanol is taken into the body; the maximum daily dose of the drug contains up to 0.384 g of ethanol.

In case of prolonged storage of the preparations (liquid dosage forms) on the basis of herbal medicinal raw materials, cloudiness of the solution and precipitation is possible; this does not affect the quality of the drug.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

When using the drug, caution should be exercised while performing potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions (driving a vehicle and other vehicles, operating moving machinery, dispatcher and operator’s work).

Contraindications

With caution: alcoholism; head injury; brain disease; childhood (over 12 years).

Side effects

Overdose

Symptoms: possible feeling of heaviness in the epigastric region.

Treatment: symptomatic. The drug should be discontinued.
