Pharmacodynamics

The laxative effect of Endofalca is due to the action of the ingredients of the drug and manifests itself in the occurrence of diarrhea. Due to creation of isoosmolar solution Makrogol 3350 (polyethylene glycol) prevents absorption in the stomach and intestines and facilitates faster passage and excretion of gastrointestinal contents.

The electrolytes of salts contained in the product prevent disruption of the water-salt balance of the body.

Pharmacokinetics

High molecular weight polyethylene glycols are not absorbed from the GIT and do not undergo metabolism in passage (prevent unwanted gassing caused by the metabolizing action of bacteria).

Indications

Preparing for endoscopic or radiological examination of the lower intestine;

Preparing for surgical manipulations in which the absence of intestinal contents – chyme – is necessary.

Composition

1 sachet of powder contains (55.318 g):

acting ingredients:

Macrogol 3350 52.5 g,

Sodium chloride 1.4 g,

sodium bicarbonate 0.715 g,

Potassium chloride 0.185 g,

excipients:

colloidal silicon dioxide – 0.00046 g;

Fruit flavoring – 0.4 g;

orange flavoring – 0,1 g;

sodium saccharinate – 0,018 g

How to take, the dosage

Endofalc is taken orally, adults and children over 18 years of age, in the form of a solution.

The solution can be taken orally or administered through a nasogastric tube the night before or the morning of the day of the proposed study or intestinal surgery. You should also refrain from eating the evening before and the morning of the study.

To prepare 1 liter of solution, the contents of 2 sachets are dissolved in 1/2 l of chilled boiled (purified) water, then the volume of solution is brought to 1 liter. For complete colon cleansing it is recommended to prepare and take at least 3 liters of Endofalk solution.

The time during which the solution is taken is 3-4 hours. The recommended dose is 3-4 liters of solution taken in portions of 200-300 ml every 10 minutes.

Interaction

The process of the intestine releasing its contents caused by the action of the drug can lead to disruption of absorption of other drugs taken simultaneously with it.

Special Instructions

Consult your doctor if you experience any side effects.

It is not recommended for use in children.

In elderly patients with underlying medical conditions, it is recommended to use the drug under medical supervision. The patient should inform the attending physician of all medications taken simultaneously with Endofolk.

The effect on the ability to drive vehicles and moving mechanisms. No effect has been detected.

Contraindications

Side effects

Gastrointestinal disorders: rare – nausea, vomiting, flatulence, cramping pains; at the beginning and some time after intake – a feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the abdomen; sleep disorders; very rare – allergic reactions.

CNS side: very rare – sleep disturbance and general malaise.

Reactions associated with hypersensitivity: very rare – allergic reactions.

If any of the above effects are detected, the physician should be consulted immediately.

Pregnancy use

There is no experience yet in the clinical use of Endofolk in pregnant women.

Therefore, Endofalc should be prescribed in pregnancy and lactation only under strict indications.
