Interaction
Interaction with other medicinal products
Vitamin C increases the effect and side effects of antimicrobial agents of the sulfonamide group (including the appearance of crystals in the urine).
Absorption of iron may be impaired due to concomitant administration of antacids, fluoroquinolones, bisphosphonates, levodopa, levothyroxine, penicillamine, antibiotics containing tetracycline or trentine. If concomitant administration with one of the above drugs is required, their intake must be 2-3 hours apart from the intake of this drug.
Drugs containing calcium, magnesium, iron, copper or zinc may interact with antacids, antibiotics (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones), levodopa, bisphosphonates, penicillamine, thyroxine, trentine, digitalis, antiviral drugs, thiazide diuretics, and drugs to treat disorders related to acidity. If simultaneous administration is required, the intake of these two drugs should be separated by 2 hours.
Special directions
The drug should be taken in accordance with the recommended doses.
If other vitamins or multivitamin-mineral complexes, including food supplements and/or enriched food/drinks containing vitamin D, vitamin A, synthetic isotretinoin and etretinol or beta-carotene are taken, the physician should be consulted as increased doses of the latter may cause hypervitaminosis of vitamins D and A.
Directions for use
The drug is recommended for use in the 2-3 trimesters of pregnancy in the recommended dosage: 1 tablet a day with meals, drinking a small amount of water.
It is necessary to consider the additional intake of vitamins A and D to avoid overdose.
Consult a doctor before use.
Special Instructions
The drug should be taken according to the recommended doses.
When taking other vitamins or multivitamin/mineral complexes, including supplements and/or fortified foods/drinks containing vitamin D, vitamin A, synthetic isotretinoin and etretinol or beta-carotene, medical advice is necessary because increased doses of the latter may cause hypervitaminosis of vitamins D and A.
Synopsis
Are you choosing which vitamins to take during pregnancy?
Elevit Pronatal (1) is a vitamin and mineral complex different from many others (2), thanks to the increased dosage of folic acid, iron and vitamin D, which promotes the development of important organs of the child such as heart and brain.
Elevit Pronatal is recommended to take during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy (3).
– Increased dosage of folic acid 800 micrograms, which allows 2 times faster (4) saturate the body with the required level of folate. It is essential for the synthesis of DNA, plays an important role in the formation of the brain and neural tube of the fetus.
– Vitamin D promotes the proper formation of bone and immune system
– Iron for blood formation and prevent oxygen starvation of the fetus.
The second and third trimesters of pregnancy:
Every day the body of the future child is rapidly growing and developing, transforming from a formed embryo into a full human body. During this period it is very important to pay special attention to the development of heart and brain, on which the functioning of the whole organism of a child depends.
Throughout pregnancy a woman should take into consideration the quality of nutrition in order to provide herself and her baby with all necessary vitamins and microelements, the need for which increases by 150%. But it is not always possible to obtain these valuable nutrients from food, because for the sake of the daily dose of vitamins it may be necessary to consume an exorbitant amount of food.
