Ecofucin, vaginal suppositories 100 mg 3 pcs

Natamycin is an antifungal polyene antibiotic from the macrolide group with a broad spectrum of action.

It has fungicidal effect. It binds with sterols of cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and functions, which leads to the death of microorganisms.

It is active against the majority of pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), yeasts (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula) and other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium).

Less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton). It has no effect in vitro on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Resistance to natamycin in clinical practice does not occur.

Indications

Vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, vulvovaginitis caused by fungi of the genus CANDIDA.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 sup. natamycin 100 mg

Associated substances:

lactulose – 300 mg,

macrogoal glyceryl hydroxystearate – 200 mg,

Silica colloidal dioxide – 20 mg,

solid fat (Supocir AM) – up to 2300 mg.

How to take, the dosage

The suppositories, previously released from the contour pack, are inserted into the vagina in the supine position, as deeply as possible, 1 time/day at night.

In case of candidal vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, vulvovaginitis use intravaginally 1 supoon for 3-6 days.

In the persistent course of vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, natamycin is additionally prescribed in the form of oral tablets: 1 tablet. 4 times a day for 10-20 days to sanitize a nidus of Candida infection in the intestine.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined individually. After disappearance of symptoms it is recommended to continue treatment for several days.

During menstruation the use of suppositories is interrupted.

Interaction

The drug interaction of Ekofucin® with other medicinal products is not described.

Special Instructions

In vaginal application, the suppositories become a foamy mass at body temperature, which promotes even distribution of natamycin on the vaginal mucosa.

At the time of treatment, it is not necessary to exclude sexual intercourse, but it is recommended to examine sexual partners and, if candidiasis is detected, to treat with natamycin. During treatment, barrier methods of contraception should be used.

Impact on driving and operating machinery

The use of the drug Ecofucin® does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

Slight irritation and burning sensation at the injection site is possible when used topically.

Overdose

At present, no cases of overdose of Ecofucin® have been reported.
