Composition

Active substance:

doxylamine succinate 15 mg;

Ancillary substances:

Lactose monohydrate – 100 mg,

croscarmellose sodium – 9 mg,

How to take, the dosage

Patients over 15 years of age are prescribed 1/2 to 1 tablet 15 to 30 minutes before bedtime. The duration of treatment is up to 2 weeks.

The effervescent tablet is dissolved in 1/2 cup of water before taking; the coated tablet with water.

Interaction

In concomitant administration with antidepressants, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, clonidine, opioid analgesics, neuroleptics, tranquilizers, an increase in the CNS depressant effect of Donormil is observed.

The simultaneous use of Donormil with atropine or other atropine-like drugs, imipramine, antiparkinsonian anticholinergic drugs, disopyramide, phenothiazine derivatives increases the risk of anticholinergic side effects: dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention.

Ethanol increases the sedative effect of Donormil.

Special Instructions

Patients on a diet with restriction of table salt should be aware that each effervescent tablet contains 484 mg of sodium.

Alcohol should be avoided while taking Donormil.
The patient should be informed that if they wake up in the middle of the night after taking the drug, they may become drowsy or dizzy.

Effects on driving and operating machinery
Caution should be exercised when prescribing the drug to patients engaged in potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Side effects

Side effects associated with the choline-blocking effect of the drug: dry mouth, accommodation disorders, constipation, urinary retention.

Overdose

Symptoms:drowsiness, agitation, mydriasis, accommodation paralysis, facial and neck hyperemia, hyperthermia, dry mouth, convulsions, sinus tachycardia. The phase of agitation and convulsions may be preceded by a state of depression.

Treatment:symptomatic therapy if necessary. When indicated, anticonvulsants and EVI are used.
