Indications
– swelling, hematomas and inflammation of soft tissues, muscles, tendons, tendon sheaths;
– closed injuries, bruises;
– joint injuries with sprained ligaments and tendons;
– epicondylitis of the shoulder (“tennis elbow”), tendinitis (inflammation of the tendons), tenosynovitis (inflammation of the tendon sheaths), bursitis (inflammation of the joint bursa);
– periarthritis of the shoulder joint;
– acute neuralgia.
If there is no improvement or you feel worse after 10 days, you should consult a doctor.
Special instructions
Driving vehicles and working with machinery
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery is unknown.
Active ingredient
Sodium heparin, Dexpanthenol, Dimethyl sulfoxide
Composition
The active ingredients of Dolobene are sodium heparin, dexpanthenol, dimethyl sulfoxide 90% solution.
Other ingredients (excipients) of the drug are: carbomer (carbopol 980), trometamol, macrogol glyceryl hydroxystearate, isopropanol, rosemary oil, mountain pine oil, citronella oil, purified water.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Dolobene.
Pregnancy
Since there are no research data on the use of Dolobene in pregnant women, its use during pregnancy is contraindicated.
Breastfeeding period
Dimethyl sulfoxide passes into breast milk, so you should stop breastfeeding while using Dolobene.
Contraindications
Do not use Dolobene:
– if you are allergic to sodium heparin, dexpanthenol, dimethyl sulfoxide or any other components of the drug (listed in section 6 of the leaflet);
– if you have bronchial asthma;
– if you have severe liver or kidney dysfunction;
– if you have severe disorders of the cardiovascular system;
– if you are pregnant or breastfeeding;
– in children under 5 years of age;
– on open wounds at the site of application.
Special instructions and precautions
Before using Dolobene, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The area where the drug is applied should be free from other medications, cosmetics or any chemicals. Dolobene should not be applied to the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, mouth, open wounds or damaged areas of the skin (due to radiation, severe sunburn, post-operative scars).
During treatment with Dolobene, the photosensitivity of the skin may increase, so intense sunbathing and visits to the solarium should be limited during its use. If skin reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued.
Due to the strong absorption of dimethyl sulfoxide, Dolobene should not be used in combination with other ointments and gels.
Children and teenagers
The drug Dolobene is CONTRAINDICATED for use in children under 5 years of age.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Serious adverse reactions
Very rare – may occur in no more than 1 person in 10,000:
– hypersensitivity reactions: urticaria (white or red, swollen, itchy rashes on the skin), Quincke’s edema (rapid swelling of the skin, mucous membranes).
If the adverse reactions mentioned above intensify, you must immediately stop taking the drug and seek medical help.
Other adverse reactions
Rare – may occur in no more than 1 person in 1000:
– smell of garlic from the mouth. The odor is caused by dimethyl sulfide, which is a product of the metabolism of dimethyl sulfoxide.
Very rare – may occur in no more than 1 person in 10,000:
– skin reactions (redness, itching, burning sensation at the site of application of the gel), which usually disappear during further treatment;
– changes in taste sensations that disappear a few minutes after applying the drug;
– Nausea, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, headache, chills may occur when the drug is applied to large areas of the body.
Interaction
Tell your doctor or pharmacist what medications you are taking, have recently taken, or may start taking.
Topical use of other drugs with Dolobene increases their permeability through the skin.
With the simultaneous use of the drug Dolobene and the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug sulindac, the development of peripheral neuropathy is possible.
Overdose
There is no data on drug overdose.
Storage conditions
Keep the drug out of the reach of children and so that the child cannot see it.
Do not use the drug after the expiration date (shelf life) indicated on the carton after the words “Best before”.
The expiration date is the last day of the given month.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Do not throw medications down the drain. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that you no longer need. These measures will protect the environment.
