Pharm action:
Diazolin® refers to antihistamine drugs and is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors. Diazolin® attenuates the spasmogenic effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, intestines, as well as its effect on vascular permeability.
As it passes through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in small amounts, it does not have strong sedative and hypnotic effects.
Indications
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal, chronic), hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, itchy dermatosis (eczema, neurodermatitis, etc.), skin reaction to insect bites;
allergic reactions to medications, food, etc.;
combination therapy of itchy dermatoses and bronchial asthma.

Contraindications

Side Effects
From the digestive system: irritant effect on the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract manifested by dyspeptic symptoms (heartburn, nausea, pain in the epigastric region, etc.).
From the nervous system: dizziness, paresthesia, tremor, increased fatigue, drowsiness, anxiety (at night), slow reaction speed. Other: dry mouth, urination problems, allergic reactions. Granulocytopenia and agranulocytosis are extremely rare.
Children have paradoxical reactions: increased excitability, irritability, tremor, sleep disturbances.
Interaction
Potentiates the effect of alcohol and drugs that depress the central nervous system.
Overdose
Symptoms: depression or excitation (especially in children) of the functions of the central nervous system; depression; confusion. Dilated pupils, dry mouth, difficulty breathing, redness of the face, paresis of the gastrointestinal tract in children – the development of seizures and death.
Treatment: there is no specific antidote. Induction of vomiting and gastric lavage. Symptomatic therapy includes drugs that increase blood pressure, oxygen, and intravenous administration of plasma replacement fluids. Careful monitoring of breathing and blood pressure levels. Adrenaline and analeptics should not be used.
