Cyston is a combined herbal medicine. It has diuretic, antispasmodic, litholytic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.

The drug regulates the crystal-colloid balance in dysmetabolic nephropathy, reduces the concentration in the urine of elements contributing to stone formation (oxalic acid, calcium, hydroxyproline). Increases the level of elements that inhibit the process of stone formation (sodium, magnesium, potassium).

Interacting with mucin, the drug promotes disintegration of stones and leads to their demineralization.
Prevents the accumulation of particles around the stone core, which prevents its further growth.

By stimulating diuresis and relaxing the smooth muscles of the urinary tract, Cyston helps remove oxalate and phosphate salts, uric acid and small stones from the urinary tract.

Cystone has a bacteriostatic and bactericidal effect, especially against Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and other gram-negative bacteria.

The litholytic effect of the drug does not depend on the pH of the urine.

extract of the stalks of Marena cordata – 16 mg;

extract of the rhizomes of wheatgrass – 16 mg;

Strawberry Rough seed extract – 16 mg;

extract of the above-ground part of Onosmas bracts – 16 mg;

extract of the whole plant of Vernonia ash – 16 mg;

purified shilajit powder – 13 mg;

Powder of lime silicate – 16 mg;

steam-treated extracts of mixtures of herbal raw materials of the above-ground part of basil fragrant,

the seeds of horse bean,

the fruits of stalked anchovy,

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion, after meals.

The use of the drug Cyston is recommended with increased fluid intake up to 2-2.5 liters per day.

Adults: complex therapy of urolithiasis and crystalluria: 2 tablets 2 times a day for 4-6 months or until stone recurrence; prevention of recurrence after surgical removal, remote lithotripsy or spontaneous stone proliferation: 2 tablets 2 times a day for the first month, then 1 tablet 2 times a day for 4-5 months; complex therapy of urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis and others): 2 tablets 2 times a day, duration of treatment 2-3 weeks or until normalization of clinical symptoms and laboratory tests.

Terms of treatment may be prolonged depending on the severity of the disease upon the doctor’s recommendation.

Interaction

The use of the drug with antibiotics increases the effectiveness of therapy.

Cyston increases bioavailability of norfloxacin.

When co-administration with co-trioxazole in animal experiment Cystone delayed absorption of sulfamethoxazole, statistically significantly increasing its bioavailability, and accelerated absorption of trimethoprim, without a significant effect on its bioavailability.

If the above medicinal agents are used simultaneously with the drug Cyston, their doses may need to be adjusted.

Special Instructions

Because the therapeutic effect of the drug Cyston develops gradually, you should stop taking it when acute pain in the kidney and urinary tract appears and consult a physician.

The use of the drug in case of urolithiasis requires adherence to a diet with restriction in the diet of food substances contributing to the formation of salt crystals or stones in the urinary tract and consideration of the specifics of metabolism and acid-base reaction of urine.
Administration of the drug in case of urolithiasis and crystalluria, regardless of calculi composition and urine pH. The drug is effective for oxalate, urate, phosphate urolithiasis.

When discontinuing the drug Cyston tablets no “withdrawal” syndrome is observed. In elderly patients and patients with renal insufficiency there is no need to adjust the dose of the drug.

Special measures for missing one or more doses of the drug are not required. If the patient misses one or more doses of the drug on one or more occasions, the patient should continue taking the drug according to the recommended schedule, without doubling the doses.

There are no special precautions needed when disposing of unused medication.

The use of the drug is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation (due to insufficient data on the study of efficacy and safety of the drug in these conditions).

Breast-feeding should be stopped if it is necessary to use the drug during lactation.
