Pharmacodynamics:

The herb thermopsis has expectorant effects with moderate irritant effect on the mucosal receptors of the stomach reflexively increases the secretion of bronchial glands.

The alkaloids contained in the herb of thermopsis (cytisine methylcytisine pachycardine anagyrin thermopsidine) have an excitatory effect on the respiratory and in high doses on the vomiting centers.

Sodium bicarbonate stimulates bronchial gland secretion helps reduce sputum viscosity.

Composition

Active ingredients: thermopsis lanceolate herb powder – 0.0067 g, sodium bicarbonate – 0.2500 g

Auxiliary substances: potato starch – 0.0279, talc – 0.0054 g.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion. Adults are prescribed 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days. Children over 12 years of age – 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Duration of treatment according to the doctor’s recommendation.

Interaction

Adsorbents, astringents and coagulants can reduce absorption of the alkaloids in the gastrointestinal tract of thermopsis herb.

Cough pills should not be used with products containing codeine or other anti-cough medications because this makes it difficult to expectorate.

Special Instructions

In order to improve liquefaction and separation of sputum it is recommended to administer copious amounts of lukewarm water.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer (acute phase) childhood (under 12 years).

The drug should not be used in case of lung diseases with propensity to hemoptysis (cancer and pulmonary tuberculosis with bleeding).
