Contour Plus test strips are based on the innovative multi-pulse technology. They are designed for self-monitoring of blood glucose in patients with diabetes and provide accurate results, comparable to the laboratory.

Glucose measurement is performed by electrochemical method. The enzyme used as a reactant is flavinadenindinucleotide-glucose dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH). It reacts selectively only with glucose, while not interacting with other non-glucose sugars such as maltose and galactose, as well as some drugs – vitamin C, paracetamol, which may be in the blood in humans. Due to that high accuracy of measurement is provided even if different medications or non-glucose blood sugars are taken.

The device measures the current strength, which is caused by the interaction of blood glucose and the reagents, applied on the test strips Contour Plus (Contour Plus). The amount of electrochemical reaction is proportional to the blood sugar concentration. The blood sugar reading is shown on the screen. No additional calculations are required.

Special Instructions

When using Contour Plus test strips, keep the plastic tube tightly closed to exclude moisture, dust and air. Carefully check the expiration date of the Contour Plus test strips on the box. If it is expired the test strips Contour Plus can not be used.

It is not recommended to overheat and freeze the test strips, distortion of the measurement results is possible.

To measure the glucose with clean dry hands take out one strip, the tube packing is tightly closed. Used test strips should not be put back to the new test strips.

The accurate measurement can be done at the air temperature of +5 … +45 °С. If the glucometer was in the cold, it is necessary to keep it in a warm room for 20 minutes before the analysis.
