Contour Plus test strips are based on the innovative multi-pulse technology. They are designed for self-monitoring of blood glucose in patients with diabetes and provide accurate results, comparable to the laboratory.

Glucose measurement is performed by electrochemical method. The enzyme used as a reactant is flavinadenindinucleotide-glucose dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH). It reacts selectively only with glucose, while not interacting with other non-glucose sugars such as maltose and galactose, as well as some drugs – vitamin C, paracetamol, which may be in the blood in humans. Due to that high accuracy of measurement is provided even if different medications or non-glucose blood sugars are taken.

The device measures the current strength, which is caused by the interaction of blood glucose and the reagents, applied on the test strips Contour Plus (Contour Plus). The amount of electrochemical reaction is proportional to the blood sugar concentration. The blood sugar reading is shown on the screen. No additional calculations are required.

Special instructions

When using Contour Plus test strips, the plastic tube must be tightly closed to prevent moisture, dust and air from entering. Carefully check the expiration date of the Kontur Plus test strips on the box. If it has expired, the Kontur Plus test strips cannot be used.

It is not recommended to overheat or freeze test strips; measurement results may be distorted.

To measure glucose, take out one strip with clean, dry hands and close the tube packaging tightly. Used test strips should not be placed back with new strips.

Accurate measurements can be carried out at air temperatures of +5…+45°C. If the glucometer was in the cold, you need to keep it in a warm room for 20 minutes before testing.
