Collomac, 10 ml

It has a keratolytic effect – it promotes the rejection of the stratum corneum of the skin.

0.5 g lactic acid,

0.2 g polidocanol 600;

Associates:

dibutyl phthalate 0.10 g,

ethylcellulose 0.55 g,

acetone 6.65

How to take, the dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, you should apply one drop of Collomac 1 to 2 times a day to the affected areas of skin.

In adults, no more than 2.0 g of salicylic acid, which equals 10.0 ml of Collomac, may be used in one day.

In children, the daily dose of salicylate of 0.2 g of salicylic acid, which corresponds to 1.0 ml of Collomac, should not be exceeded. When treating children, do not treat more than one area of skin at a time.

The duration of treatment:

As a rule of thumb, blisters and calluses can be removed in 3 to 4 days after a warm foot bath.

When using the maximum daily dosage allowed (10.0 ml in adults and 1.0 ml in children), the duration of treatment should not exceed 1 week.

The duration of treatment is set according to the results obtained.

Interaction

Salicylic acid may increase skin permeability to other topical medications and thereby increase their absorption into the body, as well as increase the unwanted effects of methotrexate and the sugar-lowering effects of oral antidiabetic drugs such as sulfonylureas.

Special Instructions

Collomac should not come into contact with mucous membranes, especially eye contact should be avoided.

If this happens, rinse the area with plenty of water.

Please close the bottle tightly after use!

Contraindications

Side effects

Occasionally there may be local skin irritation (burning and redness).

In some cases, there may be skin allergic reactions upon contact with the drug.

Overdose

In external use of salicylic acid preparations, toxic side effects should not usually be expected, even in the case of unintentional short-term exceedance of the maximum dosages indicated.

Possible local skin irritation. As a countermeasure, it is sufficient to remove the product.

In case of unintentional swallowing of the drug, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.

Pregnancy use

During pregnancy, the use of Collomac is allowed only when applied to a limited surface (not more than 5 cm2).

When using Collomac in accordance with the indications it is acceptable to continue breastfeeding during treatment. Only accidental ingestion of the drug by the infant through contact with the treated body surfaces should be avoided.
