Indications

Migraine (prevention of attacks).

Peripheral circulatory disorders (“intermittent” claudication, Raynaud’s disease, diabetic angiopathy, thrombophlebitis, trophic disorders, including trophic and varicose ulcers).

Active ingredient

Composition

Cinnarizine 25 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Overly, after meals.

In chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency, 25 mg 3 times daily, in drops – 8 drops 3 times daily or 1 capsule (75 mg) 1 time daily.

In case of peripheral circulatory disorders, 50-75 mg 3 times a day.

For prevention of sea and air sickness, 25 mg 30 minutes before the forthcoming trip; if necessary the dose is repeated 6 hours later; for children from 5 years of age – 1/2 the dose for adults.

In case of vestibular disorders – 25 mg 3 times a day. In children the dose is reduced by half.

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 225 mg. If there is high sensitivity to the drug, treatment begins with 1/2 dose, increasing it gradually.

The drug should be taken continuously over a period of several weeks to several months to achieve optimal therapeutic benefit.

Interaction

Enhances the effects of ethanol, sedatives, tricyclic antidepressants.

Special Instructions

Due to the presence of antihistamine effect, cinnarizine may affect the result in anti-doping control of athletes (false positive result), as well as negate the positive reactions during skin diagnostic tests (4 days before the study the treatment should be canceled).

In long-term use it is recommended to conduct control examination of liver function, renal function, peripheral blood picture.
Women taking cinnarizine are not recommended to breastfeed.

Patients with Parkinson’s disease should be prescribed only if the benefits of its administration exceed the possible risk of worsening the condition.

During treatment, caution should be exercised when driving or engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, lactation, children under 5 years of age.

With caution. For LF containing lactose (optional): lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

Side effects

Nervous system disorders: somnolence, increased fatigue, headache, extrapyramidal disorders (tremor of extremities and increased muscle tone, hypokinesia), depression.

Digestive system disorders: dry mucous membrane of the mouth, pain in the epigastric region, dyspepsia, cholestatic jaundice.

Skin disorders: increased sweating, red squamous lichen (extremely rare).

Allergic reactions: skin rash.

Others: decreased BP, weight gain, lupus-like syndrome.

Overdose

Symptoms: vomiting, drowsiness, tremor, excessive BP decrease, coma.

Treatment: there is no specific antidote, gastric lavage, activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.
