Chondroxide has a chondrostimulating, regenerating and anti-inflammatory effect. Participates in the construction of the basic substance of cartilage and bone tissue; affects the metabolic processes in the hyaline and fibrous cartilage.

Inhibits the processes of degeneration (destruction) of cartilage and connective tissue; inhibits the enzymes that cause cartilage damage.

Hondroxide stimulates proteoglycan biosynthesis, promotes regeneration of the articular bag and cartilage surfaces of joints, increases production of intra-articular fluid and leads to a decrease in inflammation.

Potentially can inhibit the formation of fibrin clots in the synovial and subchondral and microcirculatory beds.

Hondroxide slows the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis, normalizes metabolism in hyaline tissue, stimulates regenerative (repair) processes in articular cartilage.

The use of the drug Khondroksid reduces pain and improves mobility of affected joints, while the therapeutic effect is maintained long after the therapy course is over.

Pharmacokinetics

On single oral administration of an average therapeutic dose the maximum concentration in plasma is reached after 3-4 hours and in synovial fluid after 4-5 hours.

The drug mostly accumulates in the cartilage (maximum concentration in articular cartilage is reached after 48 hours); synovial membrane is not an obstacle for its penetration into the joint cavity. It is eliminated by the kidneys within 2 hours.

Dimethylsulfoxide, which is part of the ointment, promotes better penetration of chondroitin sulfate through the cell membranes into the deep tissues and has some anti-inflammatory, analgesic and fibrinolytic effect.

Hondroxide gel is well absorbed, does not leave marks on the skin and does not stain clothes.
