Caripazim is produced from latex (dried milky juice of immature fruits of the melon tree (papaya) – Carica papaya L., family of papayas – Caricaceae). The chemical composition of the drug is a sum of water-soluble proteolytic enzymes, the active components of which are papain, chymopapain A, chymopapain B, peptidase A, peptidase B.

It has a broad spectrum proteolytic activity. The drug affects collagen cartilage tissues, increases tissue regeneration of the intervertebral disc, breaks necrotic tissues, liquefies viscous secretions, exudates, blood clots. Its effect is similar to that of lecosim and its components.

Indications

– Degree IIIa burns (to accelerate the detachment of scabs and cleanse granulation wounds from pus-necrotic tissue residues).

How to take, the dosage

Caripazim is used topically in the form of 0.5%, 1% or 2% solutions depending on the thickness of the scab. Solutions are prepared ex tempore with 0.5% novocaine solution or isotonic sodium chloride solution.

A napkin soaked with the drug is applied to the burned surface and covered with a waterproof dressing.

No more than 30% of the total body surface is treated at a time.

The dressing is changed once a day or once every two days while removing the detached necrotic tissues. The course of treatment is 4 to 12 days.

Interaction

No clinically significant interactions of caripazim with other drugs have been established.

Special Instructions

The drug Caripazim has no adverse effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery.

– pregnancy, lactation.
