Pharmacodinamics

A pain relieving and warming ointment, contains substances which have a vasodilating and irritating effect on the sensitive nerve endings, and therefore has a local irritating, hyperemic and analgesic effect. Local irritation of the skin causes changes in the blood supply and selective reduction of trophicity of internal organs, innervated by the same spinal cord segments.

Additional irritation in the corresponding segment of the spinal cord causes additional activation of the antinociceptive system, which prevents the conduction of pain impulses to the cerebral cortex and improves the tolerance of pain.

The temperature of the skin increases by 1 – 2 ° C for 2 – 3 hours. The analgesic effect occurs after 30 to 40 minutes and lasts up to 3 to 6 hours. If used repeatedly the ointment remains effective for 10-14 days.

Pharmacokinetics

The ointment is quickly absorbed into the surrounding tissues. Absorption into the systemic bloodstream is negligible.

PHARMACODYNAMICS

An analgesic and warming ointment, it contains substances that have a vasodilating and irritating effect on sensitive nerve endings, as a result of which it has a locally irritating, hyperemic and analgesic effect. Local irritation of the skin causes a change in blood supply and a selective reduction in the trophism of internal organs innervated by the same segments of the spinal cord.

Additional irritation in the corresponding segment of the spinal cord causes additional activation of the antinociceptive system, which prevents the transmission of pain impulses to the cerebral cortex and improves pain tolerance.

Skin temperature rises by 1 – 2 °C within 2 – 3 hours. The analgesic effect occurs within 30–40 minutes and lasts up to 3–6 hours. When used repeatedly, the ointment retains its effect for 10 to 14 days.

The ointment is quickly absorbed into nearby tissues. Absorption into the systemic circulation is negligible.

Special instructions

Precautions for use: Avoid contact of the ointment with open wounds, mucous membranes and eyes. To avoid side effects, it is recommended to first apply a small amount of ointment to the skin to determine sensitivity to the drug.

After each procedure, you should wash your hands with cool water and soap!

Interactions with other drugs have not been observed.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery: The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate technical devices.

Composition

1 g of ointment contains:

active ingredients: dimethyl sulfoxide – 50 mg, racemic camphor – 30 mg, gum turpentine – 30 mg, benzyl nicotinate – 20 mg, nonivamide – 2 mg;

excipients: emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A) – 97 mg, sodium cetyl stearyl sulfate – 38 mg, polysorbate-80 – 20 mg, bronopol – 1 mg, purified water – up to 1 g.

Pregnancy

Due to the lack of data on the safety of using the ointment during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the ointment during this period is not recommended.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, ulcers and skin diseases, pregnancy and lactation, childhood.

Side Effects

If the skin is hypersensitive to the components of the ointment, itching, swelling or hives may occur. It is necessary to stop using the ointment and consult a doctor.

These symptoms disappear 8 to 12 hours after stopping the use of the ointment.

Overdose

If too much ointment is applied to the skin, skin redness, mild transient itching or a burning sensation may occur.

If you accidentally swallow the ointment, consult a doctor. Take the package of the drug with you to the doctor.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

2 years. Do not use after the expiration date stated on the package.
