Candid is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug for external use.
A derivative of imidazole.
Disrupts synthesis of ergosterol which is part of the cell membrane of fungi, which leads to cell lysis.
Active against:
– dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum),
– yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida, Torulopsis, Rhodoturola), <
– mold fungi, as well as Malassezia furfur, Aspergillus,
– some strains of Gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. , Corynebacterium minutissimum),
– Gram-negative bacteria (Bacteroides spp. , Gardnerella vaginalis),
– as well as Trichomonas vaginalis.

Composition
1 ml of the solution contains:
Active substance:
clotrimazole 10 mg;
excipients:
propylene glycol – 495 mg,
glycerin – 495 mg.
How to take, the dosage
Externally.
The solution is applied to previously washed (using soap with a neutral pH) and dried affected areas of the skin 2 times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease, localization of pathological changes and the effectiveness of therapy.
The treatment of dermatomycosis is carried out at least 4 weeks, pityriasis – 1-3 weeks.
In case of fungal skin diseases of the feet the therapy is recommended to be continued for at least 2 weeks after the elimination of symptoms of the disease.
Special Instructions
The drug is intended for use in dermatological practice only.
The use of the drug on areas of the skin with compromised skin integrity should be avoided.
Please note that if glucocorticoids are used externally over large areas of skin or with occlusive dressings, systemic absorption may occur.
The use of occlusive dressings may result in rash, folliculitis, and pyoderma.
Contraindications
Side effects
Itching, burning and swelling of the vaginal mucosa, vaginal discharge, headache, gastralgia, rapid urination, intercurrent cystitis, burning sensation in the penis of the sexual partner, pain during sexual intercourse.
Overdose
The use of the drug in high doses does not cause any reactions and life-threatening conditions.
Symptoms (in case of unintended use of the drug orally): anorexia, nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, liver dysfunction; rarely – somnolence, hallucinations, pollakiuria, skin allergic reactions.
Treatment: administration of activated charcoal, if necessary – symptomatic therapy; there is no specific antidote.
Pregnancy use
The safety of using the drug Candide during pregnancy and lactation has not been established.
Therefore, it is necessary to avoid prescribing the drug in large amounts or for a long time during these periods.
