Interaction
The toxicity of vitamin D3 is reduced when Calcemin is used concomitantly with vitamin A.
Phenytoin, barbiturates, GCS reduce the effectiveness of vitamin D3.
Laxatives decrease absorption of vitamin D3.
GCS, hormonal contraceptives for systemic use, levothyroxine impair absorption of calcium ions.
If tetracyclines are used concomitantly, the interval between doses should be at least 3 hours, bisphosphonates and sodium fluoride (their absorption is impaired) – at least 2 hours.
In co-administration of Calcemin with cardiac glycosides increases their toxicity (ECG and clinical monitoring is necessary), with thiazide diuretics – the risk of hypercalcemia increases, with furosemide and other loop diuretics – renal calcium excretion increases.
Do not use Calcemin simultaneously with calcium channel blockers.
The combined use of the drug with antacids containing aluminum is not recommended due to a decrease in their effectiveness.
Special Instructions
The dose should not exceed the one indicated in the instructions because increased calcium intake may inhibit the absorption of iron, zinc, and other essential minerals in the intestine.
Synopsis
Contraindications
– individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug,
– hypervitaminosis of vitamin D,
– active tuberculosis,
– hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria,
– severe renal insufficiency,
/p>
– nephrolithiasis,
– sarcoidosis,
– childhood (under 12 years),
– urolithiasis,

Cautious:pregnancy and lactation, renal failure.
Overdose
Vitamin D hypervitaminosis, hypercalcemia, and hypercalciuria.
Symptoms: fainting, constipation, headache, coma, decreased appetite, thirst, polyuria, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, muscle weakness, increased fatigue, bone pain, mental disorders, nephrocalcinosis, abdominal pain, urolithiasis, in severe cases, cardiac arrhythmias. If the first signs of overdose are detected, reduce the dose or stop using the drug, consult a doctor.
In prolonged use in doses over 2500 mg of calcium – kidney damage, calcinosis of soft tissues. If hypercalciuria exceeds 7.5 mmol/day (300 mg/day), the dose should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued.
Treatment: Rehydration, use of loop diuretics (e.g., furosemide), glucocorticosteriods, calcitonin, bisphosphonates, in severe cases hemodialysis. In this case it is necessary to reduce the dose or stop using the drug. In case of accidental overdose it is necessary to induce vomiting, gastric lavage. Therapy is symptomatic. In case of accidental overdose, vomiting and gastric lavage should be induced. Therapy is symptomatic.
Pregnancy use
During pregnancy and breast-feeding the drug administration should be coordinated with a physician. In breast-feeding women it should be taken into account that colecalciferol and its metabolites penetrate into the breast milk, therefore it is necessary to consider the intake of calcium and vitamin D3.
The daily dose should not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 600 IU of vitamin D3, hypergalcemia developing against overdose during pregnancy can cause defects of mental and physical development in the fetus.
