Pharmacological effects
Calcarea carbonica ostrearum is oyster lime, a substance extracted from the underlying shell layer of Casostrea angulata after the white shiny layer called nacre is removed. The substance is a whitish powder with a characteristic odor (ocean smell), practically insoluble in water and in alcohol.
The main component of oyster lime is calcium carbonate, which makes up more than 90% of the total mass. In addition, oyster lime contains:
– magnesium carbonate;
– calcium sulfate;
– silicon dioxide;
– manganese, iron and aluminum salts;
– organic substances such as conchiolin, which consists of numerous amino acids, mainly glycocol, lysine, arginine and tyrosine.
Indications

– disorders of nutrition, growth and bone development;
– polyposis growths;
– tendency to eat inedible things (e.g., chalk, sand);
– intolerance to milk;
– consequences of rickets;
– excessive sweating of the scalp with an acidic smell of sweat;

How to take, the dosage
Sublingually.
The pellets should be taken by mouth 30 minutes before a meal or 60 minutes after a meal.
In children from 0 to 3 years of age the pellets are first diluted by shaking in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and then given to drink.
The optimal amount per dose is 5 pellets.
