Indications

Acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the release of viscous sputum:

acute and chronic bronchitis;
pneumonia;
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
bronchial asthma with difficult sputum discharge;
bronchiectasis.

Special instructions

Do not combine with antitussive drugs that impede the removal of sputum.

The drug in syrup form does not contain sugar. Patients with diabetes can be prescribed syrup: 5 ml of syrup contains sorbitol and saccharin in an amount corresponding to 0.18 XE.

The drug in syrup form can cause a laxative effect, since the sorbitol content in a daily dose can exceed 10 mg (600 mg of sorbitol is contained in 1 ml of syrup, and the daily dose can reach 30 ml, respectively 18 g of sorbitol).

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

Active ingredient: ambroxol hydrochloride – 30 mg;

Excipients: corn starch, lactose (milk sugar), magnesium stearate, talc.

Contraindications

I trimester of pregnancy;
children under 12 years of age (for tablets only). Children under 12 years of age are prescribed Bronchorus in syrup form;
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

In case of lactose intolerance (glucose/galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency), please note that the drug in tablet form contains lactose.

Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance should not take the drug in syrup form (since the drug contains sorbitol).

Use with caution for liver failure, renal failure, gastric and duodenal ulcers, in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, during lactation (breastfeeding).

Side Effects

On the part of the gastrointestinal tract: rarely – diarrhea/constipation; with long-term use in high doses – heartburn, gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria, angioedema; in some cases – allergic contact dermatitis, anaphylactic shock.

Others: rarely – weakness, headache, dryness of the oral mucosa and respiratory tract, exanthema, rhinorrhea, dysuria; with rapid intravenous administration – a feeling of numbness, intense headache, adynamia, decreased blood pressure, shortness of breath, hyperthermia, chills.

Interaction

The simultaneous use of the drug Bronchorus with antitussive drugs leads to difficulty in sputum discharge while reducing cough.

Ambroxol increases the penetration of amoxicillin, cefuroxime, erythromycin and doxycycline into the bronchial secretions.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia.

Treatment: artificial vomiting, gastric lavage in the first 1-2 hours after taking the drug; taking fat-containing foods.

Storage conditions

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
