Pharmacological properties

The drug has expectorant, anti-inflammatory, secretolytic, bronchodilator effect, reduces the viscosity of sputum and accelerates its evacuation.

Indications

As an expectorant in the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory respiratory diseases, accompanied by cough and sputum formation (tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).

Composition

Active ingredients:

Thyme herb extract liquid 15.0 g

Ivy common leaf extract liquid 1.5 g

Excipients: maltitol syrup, potassium sorbate, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.

How to take, the dosage

Interaction

Bronchipret® Syrup should not be used concomitantly with anti-cough drugs, as well as with drugs that reduce sputum formation, because it makes it difficult to cough up the liquefied sputum. Combination with antibacterial drugs is possible.

Special Instructions

If symptoms persist after using the drug for 10-14 days, or if dyspnea, fever or sputum with pus appear, you should consult a physician.

The drug contains 6-7% ethanol (by volume). The maximum recommended single dose of the drug for adults is 5.4 ml which contains 0.297 g of absolute ethanol, the maximum daily dose (16.2 ml) contains 0.891 g of absolute ethanol.

The drug should be used with caution in children (because of possible negative effects of ethanol).

Information for diabetic patients: The recommended single dose of this medicine for adults, 5.4 ml, contains about 0.18 bread units (BE).

Mild cloudiness or mild precipitation may occur during storage of the drug without affecting its efficacy.

Shake before use!

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles, machinery

. During the period of using the drug care must be taken when performing potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, operating moving machinery, work of dispatcher, operator).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, to other plants of the family Araliaceae and/or Claryoteae, as well as to birch, wormwood, celery; insufficiency of sucrose/isomaltase, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption; pregnancy, breast-feeding period; children (under 1 year). Because of the presence of ethanol it is not recommended to prescribe the drug in case of alcoholism, epilepsy, liver diseases, brain disease, craniocerebral trauma.

With caution

Gastrointestinal diseases (gastritis, peptic ulcer). It is necessary to consult a doctor before starting to use the drug.

Side effects

In rare cases (more than 1/10000, but less than 1/1000) allergic reactions are possible. Unwanted reactions, the frequency of which is not known, i.e. cannot be estimated on the basis of available data: hypersensitivity reactions such as dyspnea, urticaria, swelling of the face, mouth and/or throat. Infrequent (more than 1/1000, but less than 1/100) gastrointestinal disorders (spastic pain, nausea, vomiting) may occur. In case of the first signs of the above reactions or other adverse reactions not listed in the instructions for use, the drug should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted.

Overdose

In case of overdose, pain in the stomach, vomiting, diarrhea are possible. Treatment – symptomatic.

Pregnancy use

The drug is contraindicated in pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
