Mucolytic (secretolytic) agent, has expectorant and weak anti-cough effect. Reduces sputum viscosity (depolymerizes mucoprotein and mucopolysaccharide fibers, increases serous component of bronchial secretion); activates atrial fibrillation epithelium, increases volume and improves sputum discharge. Stimulates production of endogenous surfactant providing stability of alveolar cells during breathing.
Indications
Diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by difficulty in deflating viscous sputum: tracheobronchitis, bronchitis of various etiologies (including complicated bronchiectasis. Bronchial asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, pneumonia (acute and chronic), cystic fibrosis.
Sanitation of bronchial tree in pre-operative period and during therapeutic and diagnostic intrabronchial manipulations, prevention of congestion of viscous phlegm in the bronchi after surgery.

Special Instructions
In treatment it is necessary to take plenty of fluids, which increases the expectorant effect of bromhexin.
In children, treatment should be combined with postural drainage or vibratory chest massage to facilitate expectoration of secretions from the bronchi
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, peptic ulcer of the stomach, pregnancy (I trimester); lactation period; children (under 6 years).
With caution:
Renal and/or hepatic insufficiency; bronchial diseases accompanied by excessive secretion, history of gastric bleeding.
