An antiseptic agent. Represents iodine in the form of polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine complex. The concentration of active iodine is from 0.1% to 1%. It has a wide range of antimicrobial action. It is active against bacteria (including Mycobacterium tuberculosis), fungi, viruses, protozoa.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine refers to iodophores which bind iodine.

In contact with skin and mucous membranes, iodine is released gradually and evenly, having a bactericidal effect on microorganisms.

A thin colored layer remains where povidone iodine preparations are applied until all the iodine is released, after which its action stops.

Indications

Treatment of infected wounds of various origins and etiologies:

burns,
trophic ulcers,
post-traumatic and postoperative wounds,
erysipelas,
eczema and other infected dermatitis,
abrasions,
cuts.

Composition

Active ingredient:

7.5 g povidone iodine (0.75 g free active iodine) per 100 g

Pregnancy

Cannot be used to treat the skin of premature and newborn babies.

Not recommended from the 3rd month of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Contraindications

hyperthyroidism,
thyroid adenoma,
renal failure,
hypersensitivity to iodine.

Side Effects

Local manifestations of hypersensitivity to iodine (itching, hyperemia) are possible, which requires discontinuation of treatment.

Storage conditions

Store at temperatures from 2 to 25 degrees.
