An antiseptic agent. Represents iodine in the form of polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine complex. The concentration of active iodine is from 0.1% to 1%. It has a wide range of antimicrobial action. It is active against bacteria (including Mycobacterium tuberculosis), fungi, viruses, protozoa.
Polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine refers to iodophores which bind iodine.
In contact with skin and mucous membranes, iodine is released gradually and evenly, having a bactericidal effect on microorganisms.
A thin colored layer remains where povidone iodine preparations are applied until all the iodine is released, after which its action stops.

How to take, the dosage
Externally, topically.
Apply as a 7.5% solution (possibly diluted (1:2-1:20) until the inflammation subsides.
The bactericidal effect develops within 15 seconds. No resistance of microorganisms has been noted.
It does not cause tissue irritation. It rinses off easily with water and leaves no residue on the laundry.
Owing to its high molecular weight structure, free iodine has no effect on the body.

Side effects
A local manifestation of hypersensitivity to iodine (itching, hyperemia) is possible, which requires withdrawal of treatment.
Pregnancy use
Should not be used for skin treatment on premature and newborn babies.
It is not recommended from the 3rd month of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
