Synopsis
The concept of gut microflora is losing its relevance because in reality it is a “microbiome”, almost like a single human organ, or a unique collection of bacteria, fungi and viruses in an adult’s gut weighing up to 3 kg.
It has been scientifically proven that food allergies, infections, diarrhea, peptic ulcers, obesity, colic, irritable bowel syndrome, bronchial asthma, autoimmune diseases, type 2 diabetes, early childhood autism, certain cancers, and inflammatory bowel conditions can all be associated with impaired gut microbiota in children and adults.
The colonization of the immature intestine of the child with bacteria occurs gradually, usually with a predominance of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. The composition of the emerging microbiota of newborn children will determine their future health. Therefore, it is always extremely important to consider the composition of microorganisms when prescribing probiotics to children from birth.
Lactobacillus Reuteri is one of the most well studied probiotic lactobacilli in the world. More than 150 clinical studies have been conducted with this bacteria where their effectiveness and safety has been proven. It is the only Lactobacillus species that synthesizes the antimicrobial substance Reuterin, which has a broad spectrum of activity against pathogenic bacteria, including clostridia, fungi and protozoa.
It is this species that is contained in a new generation probiotic, BioAmicus Lactobacillus in drops.
