Bimoptik Rompharm, eye drops 0.3 mg/ml 3 ml

Bimatoprost reduces intraocular pressure in humans by increasing aqueous outflow through the trabecular meshwork and increasing uveoscleral outflow. The decrease of intraocular pressure starts about 4 hours after the first injection and the maximum effect is reached after about 8-12 hours.

Indications

Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma and
ophthalmic hypertension in adults (as monotherapy or in combination with beta-
adrenergic blockers).

Pharmacological effect

Bimatoprost reduces intraocular pressure in humans by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through the trabecular meshwork and increasing uveoscleral outflow. The reduction in intraocular pressure begins approximately 4 hours after the first injection and the maximum effect is achieved after approximately 8-12 hours.

Special instructions

Before starting treatment, patients should be informed of the possibility of eyelash growth, darkening of the eyelid skin, and increased pigmentation of the iris.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients, age under 18 years.

Side Effects

The following adverse events were observed during clinical trials and in the post-registration period. The frequency of occurrence is given in accordance with the following classification: very common (>1/10); often (>1/100 to 1/1000 to 1/10000 to <1/1000); very rare (< 1/10000) and unknown frequency (cannot be estimated from available data). Within each group, adverse effects are presented in descending order of severity.

Interaction

Special studies regarding the interaction of BIMOPTIC ROMFARM with other drugs have not been conducted.

Overdose

There have been no cases of overdose with topical use.

Recommendations for use

The recommended dose is one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in the original packaging.
