Betahistin-SZ, tablets 24 mg 60 pcs

A drug that improves microcirculation of the labyrinth, used in the pathology of the vestibular apparatus. Betahistine acts mainly on histamine H₁– and H₃-receptors of the inner ear and vestibular nuclei of the CNS.

By direct agonist action on the H₁-receptors of the inner ear vessels, as well as indirectly through action on the H₃-receptors improves microcirculation and capillary permeability, normalizes endolymph pressure in the labyrinth and cochlea. At the same time betahistine increases blood flow in the basilar artery.

It has a pronounced central effect, being an inhibitor of H₃-receptors of the vestibular nerve nuclei. It improves conduction in neurons of vestibular nuclei at brainstem level.

The clinical manifestation of the above properties is reduction of the frequency and intensity of dizziness, reduction of tinnitus, improvement of hearing if it is reduced.

Indications

treatment and prevention of vestibular vertigo of various origins;

syndromes including dizziness and headache, tinnitus, progressive hearing loss, nausea and vomiting;

Meniere’s disease or syndrome.

Pregnancy

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.

The drug should be prescribed with caution for gastric or duodenal ulcers (including a history), pheochromocytoma, and bronchial asthma. Patients with these diseases should be monitored regularly during treatment.
