BELODERM® is a glucocorticosteroid for external use. It has anti-inflammatory antipruritic, anti-allergic vasoconstrictor and antiproliferative effect.
When applied to the skin surface the drug performs fast and strong action in the area of inflammation reducing the severity of objective symptoms (erythema oedema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).
Indications
Conditions responding to topical corticosteroid therapy including:
– atopic dermatitis/neurodermatitis;
– allergic contact dermatitis;
– eczema (various forms);
– contact dermatitis (including.
– contact dermatitis (including occupational) and other non-allergic dermatitis (including Sun and radiation dermatitis;
– reactions to insect bites;
– psoriasis;
– bullous dermatoses;
– discoidal lupus erythema multiforme;
– skin itching of various etiologies.
Active ingredient
Composition
1 g of the ointment contains:
the active substance:
betamethasone (in the form of dipropionate) 0.640 mg, which corresponds to 0.500 mg of betamethasone;
excipients:
mineral oil,
white petroleum jelly.
How to take, the dosage
For external use only.
BELODERM® (topical cream or ointment) is applied to the affected area twice a day in a thin layer, gently rubbing in. Areas of thicker skin (e.g., elbows, hands and feet) or areas where the product rubs off easily can be treated more frequently. Continuous treatment usually lasts no longer than 4 weeks. To prevent relapses during the treatment of chronic conditions, treatment should be continued for some time after all symptoms have disappeared. Within a year it is possible to repeat therapy more than once.
BELODERM® in the form of a cream for external use is used for the treatment of acute skin conditions including oozing. BELODERM® in the form of an ointment for external use is suitable for acute and chronic dermatoses including dry, lichenic and flaky lesions or where the occlusive effect of the ointment is necessary.

Special Instructions
Long-term external use of the drug on the skin of the face is not recommended because of the possible development of rosacea perioral dermatitis and acne.
The drug should not be used in the eye area due to the possibility of contact of the drug with the mucous membranes which may contribute to the development of cataracts glaucoma fungal infections of the eye and exacerbation of herpes infections.
Some areas of the body, such as the armpits and groin, where there is a kind of natural occlusion, are at greater risk for stretch marks, so the use of the product on these areas of skin should be of short duration.
If a fungal or bacterial infection develops on the skin, additional use of an antibacterial or antifungal agent is necessary.
Pediatric use
BELODERM® can be used with caution in children from 6 months of age and for the shortest time possible. Do not use the product under bandages and especially under plastinated diapers as this enhances absorption of the product and increases the risk of side effects.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to betamethasone or any of the excipients of the drug.

Side effects
They are usually mild in nature.
Rarely, as with other glucocorticosteroids, hypersensitivity reactions (itching, burning or redness) acne-like changes hypopigmentation skin atrophy striae hypertrichosis telangiectasia secondary skin infections may develop.
In case of hypersensitivity or side effects, the therapy should be stopped and a physician consulted.
Overdose
In prolonged continuous use of the drug especially in children on extensive skin surfaces when applied to skin with compromised integrity or when used under an occlusive dressing, adverse effects related to suppression and insufficiency of adrenal cortical function may develop.
Treatment: It is recommended that the drug be discontinued and symptomatic treatment if necessary.
Pregnancy use
Topical application of BELODERM® cream or ointment in pregnant women is allowed when the expected benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the fetus. In such cases, the use of the drug should be of short duration and limited to small areas of the skin.
Before breastfeeding, BELODERM® can be used when indicated strictly, but must not be applied to the mammary gland skin before breastfeeding.
