Pharmacological action – antacid, antispasmodic, hypersecretory, analgesic.
Blocks cyclooxygenase (methamisole), m-cholinoreceptors (belladonna alkaloids) and pain sensitivity (benzocaine).
Pharmacodynamics
The action is determined by the effects of the constituents.
Spasmolytic (decreasing tone of smooth-muscular organs, including gastrointestinal tract) and antisecretory effects (decrease in secretion of gastric, pancreatic, bronchial, salivary, sweat glands and bile secretion) are caused by alkaloids of urticaria extract (hyoscyamine, scopolamine, apoatropin etc.).), analgesic – methamisole and anesthesin, antacid – sodium bicarbonate.
Indications
Active ingredient
Composition
1 tablet contains cranberry extract 0.015 g, analgin and anesthesin 0.25 g and sodium bicarbonate 0.1 g.
How to take, the dosage
Ingestion, before meals, 1 tablet.
The highest single dose for adults is 3 tablets, the daily dose is 10 tablets.
The duration of treatment is determined by the physician.
Interaction
It enhances the effects of ethanol.
Simultaneous use with chlorpromazine or other phenothiazine derivatives may lead to marked hyperthermia.
Rentgen contrasting drugs, colloidal blood substitutes and penicillin should not be used during treatment with metamizole.
The concomitant use of cyclosporine decreases the blood concentration of the latter.
Methamisole displaces the oral hypoglycemic drugs, indirect anticoagulants, GCS and indomethacin from binding to the protein and increases their activity.
Phenylbutazone, barbiturates and other hepatoinducers decrease the effectiveness of metamizole when taken concomitantly.
Simultaneous use with other non-narcotic analgesics, tricyclic antidepressants, hormonal contraceptives and allopurinol may lead to increased toxicity.
Sedative and anxiolytic drugs (tranquilizers) increase the analgesic effects of metamizole.
Tiamazole and cytostatics increase the risk of leukopenia.
The effect is increased by codeine, histamine H2-receptor blockers and propranolol (slows inactivation).
Special Instructions
Bellalgin should be used with caution in people whose activities require increased visual acuity.
