Pharmacological action – antacid, antispasmodic, hypersecretory, analgesic.
Blocks cyclooxygenase (methamisole), m-cholinoreceptors (belladonna alkaloids) and pain sensitivity (benzocaine).
Pharmacodynamics
The action is determined by the effects of the constituents.
Spasmolytic (decreasing tone of smooth-muscular organs, including gastrointestinal tract) and antisecretory effects (decrease in secretion of gastric, pancreatic, bronchial, salivary, sweat glands and bile secretion) are caused by alkaloids of urticaria extract (hyoscyamine, scopolamine, apoatropin etc.).), analgesic – methamisole and anesthesin, antacid – sodium bicarbonate.
Indications
spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, stomach pain
inflammation of the gastric mucosa (gastritis) with high acidity
peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum
Pharmacological effect
Pharmacological action – antacid, antispasmodic, hyposecretory, analgesic.
Blocks cyclooxygenase (metamizole), m-cholinergic receptors (belladonna alkaloids) and pain sensitivity (benzocaine).
Pharmacodynamics
The action is determined by the effects of the components included in the composition.
Antispasmodic (decreased tone of smooth muscle organs, including the gastrointestinal tract) and antisecretory effects (reduced secretion of the gastric, pancreas, bronchial, salivary, sweat glands and bile secretion) are caused by alkaloids of belladonna extract (hyoscyamine, scopolamine, apoatropine, etc.), analgesic – by metamizole and anesthesin, antacid – sodium bicarbonate.
Special instructions
Bellalgin should be used with caution by persons whose activities require increased visual acuity.
Active ingredient
Belladonna leaf extract, Benzocaine, Metamizole sodium, Sodium bicarbonate
Composition
1 tablet contains thick belladonna extract 0.015 g, analgin and anesthesin 0.25 g each and sodium bicarbonate 0.1 g.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity;
closed angle
glaucoma;
prostate adenoma.
inhibition of hematopoiesis (granulocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, cytostatic or infectious neutropenia);
severe liver and/or kidney failure;
hereditary hemolytic anemia associated with deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
aspirin asthma.
With caution: kidney disease (pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, including a history), long-term ethanol abuse.
Side Effects
drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, thirst, constipation, mydriasis (dilated pupils).
Interaction
Enhances the effects of ethanol.
Concomitant use with chlorpromazine or other phenothiazine derivatives can lead to the development of severe hyperthermia.
Radiocontrast drugs, colloidal blood substitutes and penicillin should not be used during treatment with metamizole.
With simultaneous use of cyclosporine, the concentration of the latter in the blood decreases.
Metamizole, displacing oral hypoglycemic drugs, indirect anticoagulants, corticosteroids and indomethacin from protein binding, increases their activity.
Phenylbutazone, barbiturates and other hepatoinducers, when taken simultaneously, reduce the effectiveness of metamizole.
Concomitant use with other non-narcotic analgesics, tricyclic antidepressants, hormonal contraceptives and allopurinol may lead to increased toxicity.
Sedative and anxiolytic drugs (tranquilizers) enhance the analgesic effect of metamizole.
Thiamazole and cytostatics increase the risk of developing leukopenia.
The effect is enhanced by codeine, histamine H2 receptor blockers and propranolol (slows down inactivation).
Overdose
Symptoms: oliguria, hypothermia, decreased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, tachycardia, shortness of breath, tinnitus, drowsiness, delirium, impaired consciousness, acute agranulocytosis, hemorrhagic syndrome, acute renal and/or liver failure, convulsions, paralysis of the respiratory muscles. Treatment: gastric lavage, saline laxatives, activated carbon; carrying out forced diuresis, hemodialysis, with the development of convulsive syndrome – intravenous administration of diazepam and fast-acting barbiturates.
