Pharmacological properties:
Belladonna is a wild plant with oval leaves, distributed in central and Mediterranean parts of Europe.
Chemical composition – mainly alkaloids with parasympathicolytic action:
atropine, which is formed by racemization of hyoscyamine, the main alkaloid present in the fresh plant, its action is predominant in all toxicology and in all pathogenesis;
scopolamine or hyoscine.
Belladonna has anticholinergic effects due to its competitive antagonism with acetylcholine (especially on the muscarinic-like effects of acetylcholine). It also affects the peripheral (weakening of smooth muscles) and central nervous system.
Indications
Dry mucous membranes;
hyperemia, including face;
fever, sweat;
inflammation;
throbbing pain;
spastic pain (at the beginning and at the end – sudden).
Main cases of clinical application
Infectology rhinopharyngitis, non-streptococcal angina*, beginning laryngotracheitis;
dry mucous membranes often accompanied by spasmatic phenomena in the affected mucosa (dysphagia, dry cough);
congestive otitis media (throbbing pain in the ear);
abscess in the process of formation;
scarlet rash;
fever with hyperemia, fever, sweat.
Prescribing the drug is subject to basic principles:
The greater the similarity between the reactions of the patient and the pathogenic properties of the drug, the higher should be the used dilution, and vice versa;
The interval should be increased as the improvement.
Cardiology headaches associated with arterial hypertension;
hypertensive crisis.
Gynecology hot flashes during menopause.
Ophthalmology Acute or chronic conjunctivitis with severe photophobia, conjunctival hypervascularization and dry eyes;

How to take, the dosage
Sublingual. Pellets should be taken by mouth 30 minutes before a meal or 60 minutes after a meal. Children from 0 to 3 years old dilute the pellets, shaking, in 10-15 ml of water at room temperature and give them to drink. The optimal amount for a single reception is 5 pellets.
