Atheroclefit® is a liquid extract from the herb red clover, collected during the flowering phase. The extract was obtained by double extraction of red clover grass with 40% ethanol.

According to the results of preclinical studies, the liquid extract of red clover herb has a moderate lipid-lowering effect: it helps reduce the concentration of total cholesterol, the concentration of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) and increase the concentration of high-density lipoproteins (HDL).

The mechanism of action of the liquid extract of red clover herb is associated with the redistribution of cholesterol from LDL to HDL, in which cholesterol is more quickly metabolized and excreted from the body.

Liquid extract of the red clover herb also helps to reduce the intensity of lipid peroxidation, as a result of which the peroxide modification of lipoproteins decreases and the permeability of the vascular wall is normalized.

Special instructions

Before you start using the drug, you should consult your doctor.

During therapy with Atheroklefit®, it is necessary to monitor the activity of “liver” transaminases, creatine phosphokinase, and control of kidney function.

For this purpose, while taking the drug Atheroclefit®, it is recommended to visit a doctor at least once a month in order to adjust therapy if necessary. The frequency and timing of visits are determined by the attending physician.

The ethanol content in the preparation is at least 35%. A single dose of the drug (1 teaspoon) contains 1.58 g of absolute ethyl alcohol, the maximum daily dose (3 teaspoons) contains 4.74 g of absolute ethyl alcohol.

Do not exceed the indicated daily dose.

Women of childbearing age should use reliable methods of contraception when using the drug.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and machinery

During treatment with Atheroclefit®, it is necessary to refrain from driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

To obtain 1000 ml of the drug use:

Excipient:

Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 40% is a sufficient amount to obtain 1000 ml of the drug.

Pregnancy

The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; age under 18 years, traumatic brain injury, brain diseases, liver diseases, severe renal dysfunction, alcoholism (due to the presence of ethanol in the composition).

Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment.
Persons with chronic diseases must consult a doctor before using the drug.

Side Effects

Orally: 1 teaspoon of the drug, previously diluted in 1/3 glass of water, 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 3-6 months. A repeat course of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Before prescribing the drug, the patient must be transferred to a hypocholesterolemic diet, which must be followed throughout the entire period of therapy.

Interaction

Currently, there is no data on the interaction of the drug Atheroklefit® when used together with other drugs, in particular, with lipid-lowering drugs.

Overdose

When using the drug in doses higher than recommended, dose-dependent side effects and signs of alcohol intoxication (dizziness, nausea, vomiting) may increase.
