Alpha-adrenergic stimulator.

Constricts blood vessels of the nasal cavity mucosa eliminating edema and hyperemia of the mucosa.

Easily eases nasal breathing in rhinitis.

The effect occurs within a few minutes and lasts for several hours.

Indications

– acute allergic rhinitis;

– acute respiratory infections with rhinitis phenomena;

– sinusitis;

– pollinosis;

– otitis media (to reduce nasopharyngeal mucosal edema);

– preparation of the patient for diagnostic manipulations in the nasal passages.

How to take, the dosage

Intranasally.

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day.

Do not use more than 3 times a day.

Take for 7-14 days.

Special Instructions

Frequent and prolonged use in chronic nasopharyngeal diseases is not recommended.

In “cold” cases where nasal crusts form, it is preferable to prescribe as a gel.

Do not use simultaneously with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants.

Contraindications

– arterial hypertension;

– tachycardia;

– marked atherosclerosis;

– glaucoma;

– atrophic rhinitis;

– thyrotoxicosis;

– brain surgery (history);

– pregnancy;

– childhood (under 6 years);

– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution: period of lactation, CHD (angina pectoris), prostatic hyperplasia, diabetes mellitus.

Side effects

When used, it may cause burning in the nose and throat, local irritation, paresthesias, sneezing, hypersecretion, dry nasal mucosa.

Possible allergic reactions.

Rarely:

– nasal mucous membrane edema, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, increased BP, headache, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, visual disturbances;

– depression ( with prolonged use in high doses).

If symptoms occur, stop using the drug and see a doctor.
