A combination drug.
Paracetamol is a non-narcotic analgesic, affecting the centers of pain and thermoregulation, has analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Pheniramine is a blocker of H1-histamine receptors, reduces rhinorrhea and lacrimation, eliminates spastic phenomena.
Phenylephrine is an adrenomimetic with moderate vasoconstrictor action (alpha1-adrenoreceptor stimulation).
Ascorbic acid is involved in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood coagulation, tissue regeneration, the synthesis of steroid hormones, increases resistance to infection, reduces vascular permeability, reduces the need for vitamins B1, B2, A, E, folic acid, pantothenic acid.
It improves tolerance of paracetamol and prolongs its effects (associated with prolongation of T1/2).
Indications
Active ingredient
Composition
1 sachet contains:
The active ingredients:
paracetamol 325 mg,
pheniramine maleate 20 mg,
phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg,
ascorbic acid 50 mg,
Associated substances:
povidone 25 mg,
mannitol 2 g,
How to take, the dosage
Internal.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 1 cup of boiled hot water. It is meant to be taken while it is hot. Sugar may be added to taste. A second dose may be taken every 4 hours (no more than 4 doses in 24 hours).
Stellar Flu can be used at any time of the day. If there is no relief of symptoms within days of starting the drug, a doctor should be consulted.
Interaction
It enhances the effects of MAO inhibitors, sedative drugs, ethanol.
Ethanol increases the sedative effect of pheniramine contained in the drug.
Pheniramine combined with MAO inhibitors, furazolidone may lead to hypertension, agitation, and hyperpyrexia.
Antidepressants, antiparkinsonian and antipsychotic medications, and phenothiazine derivatives increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, and constipation.
Glucocorticosteroids (GCS) increase the risk of increased intraocular pressure.
Paracetamol reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs and increases the effectiveness of indirect anticoagulants.
Tricyclic antidepressants increase sympathomimetic effects, concomitant administration of halothane increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmia.
Decreases the hypotensive effect of guanethidine, which in turn increases the alpha-adrenergic stimulating activity of phenylephrine.
Special Instructions
During treatment it is necessary to refrain from using ethanol (hepatotoxic effect may develop).
Impact on driving and operating machinery
By refraining from driving and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.
Contraindications
Allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, urticaria, angioedema), nausea, epigastric pain; anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
Excited excitability, dizziness, increased blood pressure, disturbance of falling asleep. Mydriasis, accommodation paresis, increased intraocular pressure, dry mouth; urinary retention.
In long-term use in high doses – hepatotoxic effects, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, methemoglobinemia, pancytopenia; nephrotoxicity (renal colic, glucosuria, interstitial nephritis, papillary necrosis).
Side effects
Allergic reactions (skin rash, pruritus, urticaria, angioedema), nausea, epigastric pain; anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis. Irritability, dizziness, increased blood pressure, disturbance of falling asleep.
Mydriasis, paresis of accommodation, increased intraocular pressure, dry mouth; urinary retention.
In prolonged use in high doses – hepatotoxic effects, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, methemoglobinemia, pancytopenia; nephrotoxicity (renal colic, glucosuria, interstitial nephritis, papillary necrosis).
Overdose
Symptoms (caused by paracetamol):pale skin, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting; hepatonecrosis (severity of necrosis due to intoxication directly depends on the degree of overdose).
The toxic effect in adults is possible after the use of paracetamol: increase of “hepatic” transaminases activity, increase of prothrombin time (12-48 hours after the use); the full clinical picture of liver damage is seen in 1-6 days.
Rarely liver failure develops lightning-fast and may be complicated by renal failure (tubular necrosis).
Treatment:Injection of SH-group donators and precursors of glutathione synthesis-methionine 8-9 h after overdose and N-acetylcysteine 12 h later.
The need for additional therapeutic measures (further administration of methionine, IV administration of N-acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as on the time elapsed after its administration.
