Pharmacodynamics

Aminalon is a nootropic agent, restores metabolic processes in the brain, promotes glucose utilization by the brain and removal of toxic products of metabolism.

It increases thinking performance, improves memory, has a positive effect on the restoration of movement and speech after impaired cerebral circulation.

It has mild hypotensive effect, reduces initial high blood pressure and symptoms due to hypertension (dizziness, insomnia), slightly reduces heart rate.

It has moderate antihypoxic and anticonvulsant effect. In patients with diabetes it reduces glucose content; when the blood glucose content is normal, it has the opposite effect (due to glycogenolysis).

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption is fast, fairly complete. TCmax is 60 minutes, then the concentration decreases rapidly, after 24 hours in plasma is undetectable.

Indications

— conditions after suffering cerebrovascular accidents and traumatic brain injuries;

– psychoorganic syndrome;

– atherosclerotic, hypertensive and alcoholic encephalopathy;

— cerebral palsy and consequences of birth trauma in children as part of complex therapy;

– mental retardation in children;

– kinetosis (sea and air sickness).

It has a mild hypotensive effect, reduces initially high blood pressure and the severity of symptoms caused by hypertension (dizziness, insomnia), and slightly reduces the heart rate.

Has moderate antihypoxic and anticonvulsant effects. In patients with diabetes mellitus, it reduces the glucose level; with normal blood glucose levels, it has the opposite effect (due to glycogenolysis).

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption is fast and quite complete. TCmax – 60 minutes, then the concentration quickly decreases, after 24 hours it is not detected in plasma.

Special instructions

In the first days of treatment, fluctuations in blood pressure are possible.

Contraindications

– hypersensitivity to gamma-aminobutyric acid and excipients included in the drug;

– acute renal failure;

— pregnancy (first trimester), lactation period;

– children under 6 years of age.

Interaction

Enhances the effect of benzodiazepines, many sleeping pills and antiepileptic drugs.
