Althea, ground roots 75 g

The infusion of marshmallow root has a reflex expectorant and also local anti-inflammatory action; it reduces the viscosity of the bronchial secretion.

Indications

In the treatment of infectious and inflammatory respiratory tract diseases accompanied by cough with sputum that is difficult to detach (including bronchitis, tracheitis).

Composition

Althea roots.

The roots contain mucilaginous substances, starch, pectin and other biologically active substances.

How to take, the dosage

About 6 g (1 tablespoon) of roots are placed in an enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of cooled boiled water, cover and heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, strain, squeeze the remaining raw material.

The volume of the resulting infusion bring boiled water to 200 ml.

It is taken orally 3-4 times a day after a meal: adults and children over 14 years old – 1/2-1/3 cup, children from 6 to 14 years old – 1-2 tablespoons, children from 3 to 5 years old – 1 dessert spoon.

The course of treatment for 2-3 weeks. Repeated courses are possible on the recommendation of the doctor.

Before using the infusion is recommended to shake.

If the drug does not improve within 1 week, consult a physician.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to the drug, children under 3 years of age.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.
