Vitamin E belongs to the group of antioxidants. The substance has the following functions in the human body:
- Inhibits oxidative processes in cell membranes.
- It has a stimulating effect on the synthesis of heme and heme-containing enzymes-hemoglobin, cytochromes, myoglobin, peroxidase, catalase.
- Inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol.
- Inhibits saturated fatty acids.
- Inhibits hemolysis of red blood cells, capillary fragility and permeability.
- Assists in the normalization of reproductive function.
- Inhibits the development of atherosclerosis and degenerative-dystrophic changes in the skeletal muscle and heart muscle.

How to take, the dosage
Vitamin E should be taken orally after meals in a dosage of 100-300 mg/day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 g/day.
In case of detected spermatogenesis disorders taking vitamin E in combination with hormonal therapy 100-300 mg/day (therapy duration – 1 month).
Patients suffering from diseases of the neuromuscular system, taking vitamin E is indicated in a dosage of 100 mg/day for 1-2 months. The second course of therapy may be repeated after 2-3 months.
In case of threatened abortion, the recommended dose is 100 mg/day (the duration of therapy is 1 to 2 weeks). In case of worsening of the intrauterine state of the fetus and in case of habitual abortion, vitamin E is taken in 100 mg/day.
In the treatment of dermatological diseases, patients are prescribed a dose of 100 mg/day (duration of therapy – 20-40 days).
For people with peripheral vascular disease, atherosclerosis or myocardiodystrophy, the recommended dose is 100 mg/day. The therapy is carried out for 20-40 days together with vitamin A. The second course of treatment is possible after 2-3 months.

Contraindications
Taking vitamin E is contraindicated in children, people with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as people who are in the acute period of myocardial infarction.
With caution should be taken after a myocardial infarction and if there is an increased risk of thromboembolism, as well as in patients with hypoprothrombinemia and severe cardiosclerosis.
