Allergy, Allergic Conjunctivitis

Prevention and treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis;

treatment of unseasonal (year-round) allergic conjunctivitis.

Active ingredient

Azelastine

Composition

Active ingredient:

Azelastine hydrochloride 0.5 mg

Excipients:

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (hypromellose), diatrium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, 70% sorbitol, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

How to take, the dosage

Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis:

Interaction

Not identified. In case of concomitant therapy with other eye drops, they should be put into the eyes at least 15 minutes apart.

Special Instructions

It is not recommended to wear contact lenses when using the eye drops.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or other ingredients of the drug

Aged up to 4 years old

Side effects

The frequency of side effects is defined as follows:
Very often: > 1/10;
Frequently: < 1/10> 1/100;
Infrequent: < 1/100> 1/1000;
Rare: < 1/1000> 1/10000;
Very rare: < 1/10000.

Local:

frequently, transient blurring of vision, conjunctivitis;

rarely, a burning sensation in the eye.

General:

infrequent – sensation of bitterness in the mouth;

very rare – allergic reactions, headache, asthma, dyspnea, fatigue, flu-like symptoms, pharyngitis, itching, rhinitis.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose of the drug.

Pregnancy use

Use in the first trimester of pregnancy is not recommended, and in the second and third trimesters and during lactation is possible if the possible benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus/infant.
