Indications
Active prevention of viral hepatitis A in children aged 3 years and older, adolescents, and adults.

Active ingredient
Composition
1 ml of hepatitis A prophylaxis vaccine (inactivated hepatitis A virus antigen)50 ELISA units
Excipients:
Aluminum hydroxide 0.5 mg,
Formaldehyde not more than 0.15 mg,
Phosphate-salt buffer 0.01 M to 1 ml.
How to take, the dosage
The vaccine is injected intramuscularly into the deltoid muscle (shoulder muscle).
One vaccination dose is: for children and adolescents 0.5 ml, for adults -1.0 ml. A vaccination course providing long-term protection against hepatitis A consists of two vaccinations given with 6-12 months intervals. A single injection of the vaccine protects against infection for up to 12 months.
Injection of the vaccine is not allowed!
The ampoules are opened and the vaccination procedure is carried out in strict adherence to asepsis and antisepsis rules. Before filling the syringe the vaccine is thoroughly mixed by shaking the ampoule. When using an ampoule containing several doses, each dose must be administered using a separate sterile syringe with a sterile needle. The vaccine from an opened multi-dose ampoule must be used within 30 minutes.
The drug is not suitable for use in ampoules with compromised integrity, labeling, as well as changes in physical properties (color, transparency, etc.). Vaccinations carried out shall be recorded in the established record forms indicating the date, dose, manufacturer, series number, reaction to vaccination.
Interaction
Algvak M can be used simultaneously (on the same day) with other inactivated vaccines of the national calendar of preventive vaccinations and calendar of preventive vaccinations for epidemic indications (except for anti-rabies vaccine) provided that the vaccines are administered in different parts of the body.
The vaccine must not be mixed in the same syringe with other vaccines.
Contraindications
In order to identify contraindications, the doctor (paramedic) on the day of vaccination examines and interviews the vaccinee with the mandatory thermometry. If necessary, the appropriate laboratory examination shall be performed.
Side effects
In isolated cases, vaccinated persons may experience malaise, headache, and transient subfebrile fever. In rare cases, there may be mild, transient soreness or muscle twitching at the injection site, as well as mild skin hyperemia or mild swelling, which disappear after 1 to 2 days.
In view of the theoretical possibility of immediate allergic reactions in particularly sensitive individuals, vaccinated persons must be medically monitored for 30 minutes. Vaccination sites should be provided with anti-shock therapy.
