Akriderm Genta, cream 15 g

Acriderm GENTA is a combined drug for external use with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antibacterial action.

Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, anti-edema and antipruritic effect. It inhibits leukocyte accumulation, release of lysosomal enzymes and proinflammatory mediators in the inflammation focus, inhibits phagocytosis, decreases vascular and tissue permeability and prevents inflammatory edema formation.

Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic of aminoglycoside group. It has a bactericidal effect against pathogens of primary and secondary bacterial skin infections.

Active against Gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Klebsiella pneumoniae; against Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp. (sensitive strains of beta- and alpha-hemolytic Streptococcus group A), Staphytococcus spp. (coagulase-positive, coagulase-negative and some strains producing penicillinase). It is inactive against anaerobes, fungi and viruses.

Indications

Treatment of steroid-sensitive dermatoses complicated by primary and/or secondary bacterial infection, eczema (atopic, pediatric, montiform), limited and diffuse allergic dermatoses, including those complicated by gentamicin-sensitive infection, dermatitis (simple and allergic), atopic dermatitis, sun dermatitis, exfoliative and radiation dermatitis, diaper rash, psoriasis, itching.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 gram of cream contains 0.64 mg betamethasone dipropionate (equivalent to 0.5 mg of betamethasone) and gentamicin sulfate 1 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Acriderm Genta is applied in a thin layer to the inflamed surface twice a day, rubbing lightly. In milder cases, a single application is sufficient. The duration of treatment is determined individually and depends on the nosological form and severity of the disease and is usually 1-2 (rarely 4 weeks).

If a long course of therapy is necessary, it is recommended to use the drug less frequently, for example, every other day.

In therapy of chronic conditions under constant medical supervision, treatment should be continued for some time after all symptoms have disappeared to avoid a relapse of the disease.

The use of the drug in children under 12 years of age is under the supervision of the attending physician.

Interaction

Interactions of the drug with other drugs have not been identified.

Special Instructions

The drug is not used in ophthalmology. Avoid getting the cream in the eyes, on damaged skin and open wounds. In order to increase the effectiveness of therapy it is possible to use occlusive dressings.

Please note that the transdermal absorption of betamethasone and gentamicin is increased, which leads to an increased risk of systemic side effects.

In case of resistant bacterial or fungal microflora the drug should be discontinued and appropriate therapy should be prescribed. cross-resistance with aminoglycoside antibiotics may develop.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Skin tuberculosis, viral skin infections, vaccinations, perioral dermatitis, pink acne (rosacea).

Side effects

Burning, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, allergic contact dermatitis, skin atrophy, stretch marks, sweat.

Overdose

Acute overdose is unlikely; however, chronic overdose is possible with excessive or prolonged use of the drug, accompanied by signs of hypercorticism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of adrenal cortex function, manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome.

Treatment. Appropriate symptomatic treatment is indicated. In case of chronic toxic effects, gradual withdrawal of the drug is recommended.

Pregnancy use

Possible if the expected effect of therapy on the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

It is contraindicated in pregnancy in high doses and for a long time.

Breastfeeding should be stopped during treatment.
