ABUCEL paste provides additional protection and nourishment to the skin around the stoma as well as healing of wounds and abrasions resulting from stoma secretions on the patient’s skin.

It smoothes out skin irregularities and improves the fit of the container (stoma) to the body, which increases wearing reliability and durability of any self-adhesive stoma devices.

Indications

• Leveling the skin surface around the stoma in patients with colostomies and ileostomies, which improves the adhesion of the colostomy bag and prolongs its use.
• Protecting the skin and scar tissue around the stoma.

Composition

Active ingredients: sodium alginate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, castor oil.

How to use

1. Soak the skin around the stoma with a warm soapy solution or a recommended antiseptic and towel dry. Important: Put the paste on a clean and dry skin.
2. Warm the tube for a few minutes before use on some closed source of heat (radiator, heater, etc.) or between your hands, under the armpit.
3. Unscrew the cap of the tube and pierce the protective membrane. Squeeze the paste from the tube onto the skin around the stoma.
4. Apply only as much paste as is necessary to smooth out the irregularities of the skin.
5. Paste spread with your finger until an even surface. Keep it for 20-30 seconds. Apply self-adhesive colostomy bag.
6. The paste can also be applied directly to the adhesive ring of one-piece colostomy bags or to the adhesive ring of the plate of two-piece bags.
7. If the skin has deep creases or scars, the paste can be filled in layers, letting it dry for 20-30 seconds before applying the next layer. After squeezing the paste, close the tube quickly and securely.

   ABUSCEL Paste Removal: After changing the colostomy bag, wash the skin around the stoma with warm, soapy water. Do not worry if some paste remains on the skin. A new layer of paste can be applied over the unremoved residue.

Special Instructions

Please note! ABUZEL paste can only be used in combination with colostomy bags, it cannot be used on its own.
