Urotropin has a diuretic effect, increases the permeability of cell membranes, thus accelerating the removal of toxins from the body. Urotropine in an acidic environment splits into formaldehyde and ammonia, which have an antimicrobial effect. Urotropine has a particularly strong antimicrobial effect in the acidic environment of the kidneys and urinary tract. Excretion of the drug and its metabolites with urine begins 40-60 minutes after drug administration and lasts 6-12 hours. Urotropin refers to substances of Hazard Class 4 – low-hazard substances.
