🐾 Ringer-Locke’s solution , 100 ml

Ringer-Locke solution is isotonic to animal blood plasma and regulates water-salt and acid-base balance in animal body. After administration the drug is quickly absorbed from the injection site and distributed in organs and tissues of the animal. The drug has no irritant effect on tissues.

Active ingredient

Sodium chloride, Potassium chloride, Calcium chloride, Sodium hydrogen carbonate

Composition

Ringer-Locke’s solution is a combined drug in the form of an injection solution containing 0.8 g of sodium chloride, 0.02 g of potassium chloride, 0.02 g of calcium chloride, 0.02 g of sodium hydrocarbonate, 0.1 g of glucose and water for injections up to 100 ml as an active substances.

How to take, the dosage

Ringer-Locke’s solution is administered subcutaneously or intravenously in the following doses. When administered subcutaneously, the dose of the drug is administered in fractions at different sites.

Horses, cattle 1000-3000 ml

Small cattle 100-300 ml

Calves up to one year old 200-400 ml

Calves up to one year old/p>

Lambs, piglets 25-100

The doses and timing of administration depend on the weight of the animal and the course of the disease.

Special Instructions

Animal products shall be used without restrictions during and after application of the drug. When working with Ringer-Locke Solution one should follow general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with drugs for animals.

Contraindications

Intravenous administration of the solution is contraindicated in cases of marked impairment of renal excretory function.

Side effects

In recommended doses the drug usually does not cause side effects and complications in animals. Application of the solution in large quantities may lead to the development of chloride acidosis, hyperhydration. In case of such complications the dose shall be reduced or the drug shall be discontinued. Use of Ringer-Locke solution does not exclude use of other drugs.
