As a carrier or diluent for the preparation of sterile infusion (injection) solutions from powders, lyophilisates and concentrates.

It is used for the preparation of sterile solutions intended for subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous administration immediately prior to use.

Outwardly to wash wounds and moisten dressings.

How to take, the dosage

Intravenously, by drip, as a “shock” therapy or by injection, according to the instructions for use of infusion solutions, concentrates, concentrates for infusion preparation, injectable solutions, powders and dry substance for injection preparation.

The daily dose and infusion rate must be consistent with the dosing instructions for the added medication.

Interaction

The incompatibility of drugs with water is practically uncommon, because if a substance is incompatible with water, it will be incompatible with the aqueous environment of the body.

When mixing with other medicinal products (infusion solutions, concentrates for preparing infusions; injection solutions, powders, dry substances for preparing injections) a visual check for compatibility is required (there may be chemical or therapeutic incompatibility).

Special Instructions

Do not mix with water oil solutions for injections, external cauterizers.

Medicines whose concentration must remain within certain limits shall be diluted with water for injection only within the specified limits.

The water for injection cannot be directly injected or administered as an infusion due to the lack of low osmotic pressure substances (risk of hemolysis!).

Contraindications

Injection water is not used as a solvent for medications if another solvent is listed as mandatory for some of them.
