Videstim, ointment 0.5% 35 g

Videstim stimulates skin regeneration, increases the reproduction of skin epithelial cells, inhibits the processes of keratinization, prevents the development of hyperkeratosis.

The local action is caused by the presence of specific retinol-binding receptors on the surface of epithelial cells.

Indications

Inflammatory diseases and skin conditions with dryness and delayed healing: dermatitis, eczema, atopic dermatitis without exacerbation, cheilitis, cracks (including breast nipples) and abrasions, age-related skin changes as well as diseases associated with impaired keratinization processes.

It is used to activate reparative processes in various dermatoses after discontinuation of treatment with glucocorticosteroid drugs.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 g of the ointment contains retinol palmitate (retinol) (in terms of 100%) 5 mg,

excipients:

butylhydroxytoluene,

butylhydroxyanisole,

emulsion wax,

Vaseline oil,

Glycerin (glycerol),

Ethyl alcohol (ethanol) 95%,

Purified water – up to 1 g.

How to take, the dosage

Externally. The ointment is applied thinly to the affected areas of the skin twice a day: early in the morning and late in the evening.

In case of severe skin peeling it is possible to use an occlusive dressing.

Before applying the ointment, cracks and abrasions are treated with antiseptics.

The ointment is applied to cracked nipples of nursing mothers 2 times a day, morning and evening after feeding, with a break of 12 hours.

The mammary gland should be washed with warm water and soap before the next feeding after application of Videstim ointment.

The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and can be 4-12 weeks.

Interaction

Do not use in combination with other drugs containing vitamin A and retinoids to avoid hypervitaminosis A.

Incompatible with tetracycline antibiotics.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, hypervitaminosis A, acute inflammatory skin diseases.

Side effects

In some cases, increased itching and redness of the skin at the sites of application of the drug may occur, which requires its temporary withdrawal until the severity of the process is reduced.

Possible allergic reactions.

Pregnancy use

The use of the drug is possible when the anticipated benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child.
