Vicks Aktiv Balm with menthol and eucalyptus, ointment 25 g

Pharmaceutical group:

Preparation used externally for colds and coughs.

Pharmaceutical action:

Vicks Active Balm with menthol and eucalyptus is a combined product, the action of which is due to the components included in its composition.

It has a local irritating, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect.

The reduction of nasal congestion after a single application of the drug is observed for up to 8 hours.

Indications

In the complex treatment of inflammatory respiratory diseases accompanied by:

– runny nose;

– feeling stuffy nose;

– cough and sore throat.

Composition

Auxiliary substances:

thymol – 0.25 g,

Cedar oil – 0.45 g,

White soft paraffin – up to 100 g.

How to take, the dosage

External use (rubbing). Only for adults and children over 2 years old.

To rub the ointment gently 2-4 times a day into the skin of the chest for rhinitis and stuffy nose; into the skin of the neck for cough and sore throat; into the skin of the back for cough.

The duration of treatment is on average up to 5 days.

Special Instructions

Do not swallow. Do not apply Vicks Active Balm with menthol and eucalyptus on the nose and/or face. Avoid getting the drug in the eyes, on the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth. In case of accidental contact of the ointment in the eyes and on the mucous membranes it is recommended to rinse liberally with water.

Never heat the drug and do not use it in a heated state.

After rubbing, clothing covering the area where the product is applied should not be too tight.

If you do not feel better within 5 days, or if it gets worse, you should see a doctor.

Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery

The use of the drug does not adversely affect: the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions. (including driving a car and other vehicles, operating moving machinery, etc.).

Contraindications

– tendency to laryngo- and bronchospasm;
– bronchial asthma;
– whooping cough;
– false croup (acute stenotic laryngotracheitis);
– Cough caused by sputum (mucus) accumulation;
– Prolonged or chronic cough caused by smoking or emphysema;
– skin injuries and skin diseases in the area of the intended application;
– children under 2 years of age;
– hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation Vicks Aktiv Balm with menthol and eucalyptus.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, laryngospasm, bronchospasm, skin irritation in the area of application of the drug, lacrimation.
