Uro-Gial pH 6, 5-7.5, 50 ml

Hyaluronic acid, is a high molecular weight glycosaminoglycan, which consists of repeating disaccharides N-acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a constituent of all body tissues and is the most significant component of the intercellular matrix and forms a significant proportion of glycosaminoglycans of the urothelium of the bladder and urethra (urinary tract).

The medical product Uro-Gial is a viscoelastic protector of the intercellular substance of the urothelium of the bladder and urethra.

Injected into the bladder cavity it creates a viscoelastic film on the surface of the mucous membrane protecting it from external factors with various manipulations (urethroscopy, cystoscopy, prostate and bladder TUR, pelvic radiotherapy etc.).

Indications

Temporary protection of the bladder mucosa during various manipulations (urethro-cystoscopy, radiation therapy, etc.). Besides the effectiveness of sodium hyaluronate application for the following diseases has been proved by numerous scientific researches:

1 ml of the solution contains:

sodium hyaluronate 0.8 mg,

sodium dihydrophosphate monohydrate 0.45 mg,

dinodium phosphate anhydrous 2 mg,

sodium chloride 8.5 mg±0.05,

deionized water q.s.

How to take, the dosage

1.Get the patient’s written informed consent for the manipulation.
2.Explain to the patient the specifics of the procedure and intravesical instillation therapy (approximately as outlined below):
a) if the source of the pain is the bladder, you may feel relief 5 – 15 minutes after administering the mixture;
b) in the initial phase of treatment, you may need intravesical instillations more frequently than once a week.
c) try to keep the injected mixture in your bladder for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 2 hours.
d) sometimes (rarely) side effects occur and you should notify your doctor immediately.
e) very rarely, a recoil effect occurs when 5 – 6 hours after injecting, pain returns with greater intensity.
f) Instillation therapy may require more procedures than planned.
3.Prepare the patient for catheterization in the urogynecological chair.
4. Wash your hands. Wear non-sterile gloves.
5.Treat the external opening of the urethra with antiseptic.
6. Inject the anesthetic lubricant into the urethra, leaving a small amount of gel to lubricate the catheter.
7. Remove the gloves.
8.Wash your hands.
9.Draw the drug(s) into a 60 ml syringe. (If a combination of drugs is used, first mix them in a bottle with “URO-GIAL”, using a 10 ml syringe).
10.Open the packaging of the catheter.
11.Put on sterile gloves.
12. While maintaining sterility, apply a small amount of anesthetic lubricant to the tip of the catheter and gently insert the catheter into the urethra and into the bladder.
13. Empty the bladder, then attach a syringe to the catheter and slowly inject the solution into the bladder.
14. Remove the catheter from the urethra.
15.Discard the used accessories in special containers.
16. Remove gloves.
17.Wash hands.
18. Make an entry in the outpatient record and the patient’s appointments.

Interaction

Incompatibilities have been noted between sodium hyaluronate and quaternary ammonium salts, such as benzalkonium chloride.

Uro-Gial should not be allowed to come in contact with these products or with medical and surgical instruments treated with these products.

Special Instructions

The drug Uro-Gial is intended only for insertion into the bladder cavity using a urological catheter.

You must be aseptic before insertion.

Check the integrity and tightness of the bottle before use: do not use if the bottle or bottle cap is damaged, and check the integrity of the packaging of the syringe, needle, and urological catheter. Do not use if they are damaged.

Do not use after the expiration date.

Uro-Gial is indicated for bladder instillation which must be performed by a physician with special training, in a specially equipped room, observing all rules of asepsis.
